Sayings by Dr. Frederick Lenz on the cause of suffering.... Quotations on the Cause of Suffering, Buddhism, Enlightenment, Nirvana, Noble Truths, Eightfold Path, Tantra and Mahayana by Zen Master Rama, Dr. Frederick Lenz.
while desire and especially expectations, are at the root of disappointments, the real causes of human suffering are statistical cultural effects, who's own root and cause, are the hatreds of logic and consideration. i don't believe it takes a doctorate or rocket science to observe this, just the patience and persistence to parse the 'black box' of human cultures and societies.

There was a lot of deliberate negative propaganda directed against teachers of eastern philosophy in the west then by people with vested interests, and I consider this as a typical example or sample of such. The Indian Christian preacher, Anthony de Mello who enthusiastically added wisdom of eastern philosophy in his teachings and speeches to complement the teachings of Christ, was found dead of a supposed heart attack one fine day in the U.S. while on a successful lecture tour in 1987, even though he had no previous issues of heart disease. After de Mello's untimely death, there was an additional controversy where the Catholic church stated that his teachings were misleading and not in accordance with Christian doctrine. Meister Eckhart was similarly accused of heresy centuries back for similar teachings though his death before the verdict came out is said to have saved him from the inquisition. I had created a thread on Anthony de Mello's suspicious death here.... The Suspicious And Untimely Death Of Jesuit Anthony De Mello...
