they have to mold her into the perspective of the masses. and the masses want a girly, slim and taller dora. that is the ideal. that is what will sell. if you can't sell it to the en masse then it's not worth doing.
I would think that a responsible parent would be more concerned with the fact that their daughter sees a cartoon character as a role model, rather than the damned parent!
I like original dora better- they shouldent have changed her- but i dont think she looks sexed up at all. Grown up dora looks like she's 7 or 8, so I can't see why any one would call her a whore. WTF??! she doesent even have boobs yet!
I see your point. It is a little overwhelming, all dolls the same now. Don't get me wrong, I love my barbie, but Dora was so cute too. I don't think she's sexed up, however. I am curious, is this character a complete replacement, or are they creating a new show?
She is growing up.. everyone does and she finally found some good looking clothes for herself. Maybe her mother isn't dressing her anymore
All I can say is that if some parents look at the "new dora" and think that it is sexed up, then someone needs to call child services.
I don't think it's too bad... honestly...but I don't really understand why they felt the need to change her in the first place. I hate it when they change cartoons. Hate the new Ninja Turtles, hate the new look for Littlest Pet Shop... I think once you create a successful character, it's best to keep it that way. Or maybe I'm old-fashioned. But I don't think she looks "sexy" or anything.
