Hello, glad to be anywhere. One of my interests is the question of what being a hippie amounts to. I've boiled it down to a hand full of answers, the prime one probably being whether hippies are egalitarians or everyday elitists. Author Robert Ardrey concluded in a couple of his 60s books that "in" groups and "out" groups were at the core of human characteristics--following John Locke and others. I reckon this question has been discussed on this forum over the years. Unfortunately, though I've tried to live otherwise, Ardrey seems to be right. Hierarchies, good-better-best hippies, are always the bottleneck. Here-on this site, no attack-again we have members, excellent members, mods, super mods, uber mods. We are the hip ones. That's always the problem.
