My best friend is moving to Los Angeles to work for the Scientology Celebrity center as a desk clerk or something. She wants me to move there with her. I know no one though and have no job. I freaking clean houses for a living here right now and make $900 a month, that's it...And I don't know what I'd do there but I know I want to go real bad...
"Working" for the Scientology Center is a euphemism for joining the Cult. I lived next to the Center, and also next to the celebrity center. All you have to do is give them $249 and they'll let you live n the dorm and be a mindless slave. When you get older, if you're faithful enough, they'll let you get a job and live off "campus" if you donate enough money and recruits. I won't wish your friend good luck, because if she's even considering getting mixed up with these crazies, she needs more than luck. At least watch the South Park episode. And let me clue you in: LA eats newbies. It takes a lot of heart to keep on keeping on here. But it can be done, IF you prepare yourself. But it ain't easy. The Rainbow Family is largely secretive and the street kids prey on one another. But if you do come, stay away from Scientology and remember a place called "My Friend's Place" or maybe it's "My Friend's Space" in Hollywood. PS FYI: $900 a month gets me a studio apt with no air conditioner two blocks from Hollywood and Vine, and it's a $1.50 to ride the bus or subway, no transfers, and there's a thing called "audience work" you'll need to know about.
