thats last year, or year before, it was pretty bad. however the park was mostly picked up from what i gather, and people started tearing up the bags before the trash pickup. looking for food or roaches maybe. but people didnt leave it that way, and the people digging through the trash were a threat themselves. im not going to knife fight someone to keep the garbage in the can. ill wait until tomorrow.

believe it or not, I've actually heard about a ban on plastic straws in restaurants. in this one area in california, they only provide a plastic straw if you ask for one. There's a bill in the works for the rest of the state apparently. Plastic straws illegal unless requested under California bill — with up to a $1,000 fine attached I don't think it's a bad idea because of the ridiculous amount of plastic we use every day, month, year.. etc.

 

My response to that was, "Why does a grown adult NEED a straw at a restaurant?"

Seriously, I've never understood why straws are even a thing. Want one? Bring your own. Otherwise, ban them due to their lack of actual purpose.

The Government here is proposing a ban on straws and cotton buds. We need some straws for disabled people, but they do create a lot of plastic waste. They can be made from paper, but paper ones can't handle smoothies. I'm sure cotton buds could be fabricated from card. I'd miss cotton buds. One of my greatest pleasures.
