Grrr. I really wanted to see this movie, but one of my idiot friends ruined the ending. Grrrrrrrrrawr.
It's not that sort of film! Knowing the ending doesn't make it any less worth watching or even help you to understand what it is actually about. I've seen it loads of times, for a while I was watching it once a month, and no two times have I seen the same film...
yeah always notice something new each time. its good to watch with other ppl and they see it differently to you... eye opening indeed
he he, so true! it really spoils it for me when i remember that a normal guy wrote it. blasted fiction!
yes it's a good film but i have never thought it was THAT good. i thought it presented a lot of issues and ideas but kind of jumbled them all together in a bit of a mess. i often find that the people who love donnie darko are the same people who think tim burton is a genius. good filmmaker yes, but one is not labelled a genius for giving ones films a dark, gothic feel. they rant and rave about edward scissorhands and nightmare before christmas, but i have never once heard anyone say how much of a cinematic masterpiece they think planet of the apes was. mostly because it was arse.
I bought it about three weeks ago without ever watching it before. They kept on playing it on Showcase but I would always miss it. So anyways I picked it up. I didn't mind it at all. Frank wasn't creepy...it was the Mongrel that creeped me out the most.
That movie is so fucking amazing! I really love it... The whole movie could be described not with with words, but with one strange feeling, the same feeling he felt in that second.
I dont see why there are a billion threads for this crappy ass movie.. Ranks up there with closer and solaris....stupid shit.
well, each to their own as they say. i think i enjoy it as it makes me think. not alot else in this superficial world does these days.
I thought the whole manipulated living and manipulated dead concepts were pretty cool, definitely made the film more interesting for me if you wanna learn more about what was really going on, read this FAQ and follow the instructions http://www.stainlesssteelrat.net/ddfaq.htm
my friends going to let me barrow it from him but i heard the only way you will get it is if you watch it stoned
I think i've watched this film 8 times. 6 for the original version, and 2 for the director's cut. It's just such a strange yet all so normal film. Gotta love it.
this movie is great for the high rewatchability factor, you see it once or a couple times not knowing what the fuck, then if you find out all the backstory to it you get a whole new movie to interpret
LOVE this movie, saw it three times in three days! Every character is so real, Frank is completely badass, and Donnie is a masterpiece. The smurf conversation is a riot. The timetravel scenario is genius. Anyone else feel intense passion for this movie??
