Not much different really. The threat of a world war, the rise of right wing nationalism, recovering from an economic depression ,- well, recession in this case, but still. 2016 is like a less severe 1939

There's no proof of the guy being a white supremacist. This is what the Southern Poverty Law Center is labeling him as because of SUPPOSED remarks he made about Jews according to his ex-wife. There is no written or recorded proof of him actually saying the things he's being accused of.

I don't care about defending this guy, and I know little about him to form an opinion. However, it gets tiring seeing people on the left always using race to push their agenda.

Based on what the news headlines are saying, you would think the guy is an avowed clan member or something.

It's kind of like a snowball rolling down a hill. It grows and grows.
Trump says "I'll stop that snowball."
But after 4 years of rolling you can talk all you want...but once you are standing in front of that snowball coming at you? Yeah that's a whole different story.

Okay, who else is suffering from severe Trump over-exposure? Granted it will keep going strong for awhile but I need a break from it all. I'll be back after I chill a bit, a couple days at least.

  7. I am. Jesus, I would have voted for Clinton if I had known someone like Laguna was gonna come out of the woodwork. Don't get down on me, 'cause no one could have predicted things getting that bad.

There's the threat of a world war now? And, I take it, you were both there, right? In 1939 I mean.

Unemployment was somewhere between 15 and 20%.

Well it is true he hasn't sent anyone to the ovens yet but he was chairman of Breitbart News which called Conservative Bill Kristol a "renegade Jew", it has accused Anne Applebaum, who is Jewish, of trying to impose a globalist worldview on citizens that reject it and followed that with, "Hell hath no fury like a Polish, Jewish, American elitist scorned". He told Mother Jones that Breitbart was a platform for the Alt Right.
And I'm getting into his and Breitbart's attacks on Catholics (they want Hispanic immigration because their church is dying), women, blacks, and Muslims.

    But you know all that.

So from what I’m hearing the wall is being scaled back to a fence and Americans will pay for it, it seems.

[edit] Also the number of deportations of illegal immigrants is down from all of them to a couple of million (maybe).

Obamacare is going to be kept at least in part

Hillary looks like will not be prosecuted

    And nothing about banning Muslims

I‘m getting the feeling the only thing that will stay as it was promised is the tax cuts for the wealthy.

And conspiracy theorist. And what about the people who voted for a political outsider who was going to "drain the swamp" in Washington? Chief of staff Priebus is the ultimate political insider.

Anybody want to make a prediction on how many more days before Trump's supporters start turning on him? I have a strong hunch it will be long before Inauguration Day. They're going to be more pissed than any other group of voters in American history. The Secret Service had better be on top of their game.

This is why I secretly hoped Trump would actually get elected. Because people never get it until it actually slams them.

There was a combined 70% approval rating between the 2 main candidates. I have a feeling there won't be a large number of people disappointed. Maybe a few KKK or skinhead members. But really who cares about them.
Anyone who voted on the issues that balbus just mentioned would still be happier with that then with the issues that Clinton proposed.

What plans did she propose? I heard lots of generalizations but no actual plans.

Ok so let’s say the Trump supporters are ok with a large degree of fall back on things like the wall and deporting immigrants but what about the economy?

I mean a lot of people voted for him because he promised to bring the jobs back. What happens if he begins going back on those promises.

Here is an interesting article by Joseph Stiglitz

What the US economy needs from Donald Trump : Too many Americans feel left behind by globalisation. But Trump is unlikely to pursue the agenda his voters need. This is what he should do

Yup, good ole' Billy-Bob and Cletus are gonna get mighty perturbed when their hero can't actually do any of the ludicrous shit he promised.

Nothing will happen. If he fails badly enough then he won't get re-elected in four years.

No president has ever faced impeachment over broken promises.

The only major way to directly create more jobs would be the huge infrastructure spending Trump proposed. With a total debt of more than 100% of GDP this will be interesting.
