I personally think that the "Make America Great Again" idea stems from the way we look to the rest of the world as opposed to turning us "back" into something we were decades ago. I've heard this same line being described as "republicans want to bring back slavery" which is pretty extreme since we have laws against it for over a century now. Most of the opinions about bringing back formerly traditional American values have nothing to do with bringing back the bad stuff. Republicans don't want to bring back segregation either, after all, that was a gift from Jim Crow and the democrats. But these days any message from the right about bringing things back is immediately toppled by the crap you speak of, old grudges and grievances.

It's like when someone wants to talk about the US space program and the amazing achievements therein, but there's always some slob at the back prepared to rain on the parade and starts off with something like "yea, Americans walked on the moon, but, what about Rodney King? Have Americans really come so far?" and shit like that. I'm personally tired of it. As an American I support anyone's right to their opinion. But at some point people have to realize that this is the only nation we have. We don't have many options and most of them suck. Including our primary option, to replace those in our government who are complicating our lives instead of serving us.

As for religion, I have seen it change dramatically. Churches are morphing into social services offices and many are in business primarily to handle "refugees". What was really surprising was to watch the catholic church wriggle free from the hideous pedophile priests who were raping the congregation's children. Like any corporation they pulled in an "interim" pope, of all things. They wanted him to be the lightning rod, so naturally they went to the rolls and grabbed the first genuine Hitler Youth Nazi they could find. He took the heat, then retired to a comfy villa, unheard of in centuries. The latest pope takes the name of Francis but shares almost nothing in common with him. Francis owned nothing and lived a spartan life like Christ. This guy doesn't live like that.

I was more than happy to see Trump slap the GOP down. They so richly deserved it for running counter to their constituency. The mid term elections were a real turning point. So many of them did the exact opposite of their campaign promises and people finally had enough. Watching the republicans turn on their nominee should be a pretty powerful indicator that their party is divided. If Trump wins, the republicans are doomed. And they know it. The democrats are going down in history as the party that divides the whole nation. I'm disgusted by all the racial crap they have stirred up in recent years after we made so much progress before.

I don't hang with racists or bigots, but now I'm being told that I am one just because of my color. That's progress?

I admit I liked Bernie a lot. There's no cool like an old cool. But the democrat establishment squashed him like a bug way too easily. Looking back, I realize that Bernie never had a chance. He didn't have a big enough war chest and he doesn't have nearly enough friends in Washington for him demeanor. In another time he would have made an excellent president. It was obvious he cared about people. He was the exception to the ageism I freely admit to bringing to the discussion.

The Clintons are aging badly. They have become even more cynical and have way too many entanglements with foreign government that clearly don't care for the Americans. And Trump is another aged curmudgeon who is only in this because eh wants to preserve HIS way of life. Trump saw the writing on the wall. If he wanted to keep his way of life, he would have to reverse some of what Obama has done (some of which doesn't kick in until after 2017 for some reason).

I doubt Bernie would have gotten us into a war, but I fear we would have seen an escalation of the attacks within our nation. I just didn't see him as being very strong on defense. Trump will likely run toward war. Unfortunately I think he'll be targeting Iran, they are clearly targeting us (and have been since 79). Clinton will do as her husband and pay bribes across the middle east to keep a tenuous peace. Anyone who steps out of line will get the stick, in the form of a drone that's probably already circling overhead.

When this started I was all about the outsiders and who could upset the establishment. Bernie failed where Trump is succeeding. I don't like it this way, but I am ready for something new. Obama wasn't it.

Yes, that's the combo I wanted, too. They were nice guys, and therefore finished last. Trump says his abandonment by Republican leaders now leaves him "unshackled" and free to take his campaign to new lows! No more Mr. Nice Guy! We're gonna get the uninhibited Donald--the Trump we've seen so far being a pussycat (no pun intended.) If that strategy succeeds, what kind of country do we live in?

Trump is proof the republicans as we have known them are over. If the establishment republicans don't start forming a whole new party, Trump will drag them down to the same "at any cost" campaign democrats have been famous for. That has always been one of the strong points for democrats, ruthless partisanship. Rioting in the streets doesn't ruffle them. While is scares she shit out of republicans.

But again, Trump is not really a republican. And he's not a "RINO" either. He's 100% outsider to BOTH parties. He infected the republicans because he saw how easily he could beat all of them. And look at the gauntlett he ran. so many they had to double up debate schedules during the primaries. As they peeled off, different ones moved from the "kid's table" to the main dining room.

The primaries really exposed each and every weak flank the republicans have. If that was a collection of their best, WTF? So what you're saying has already come to pass once, the "nice" republicans, like Ben Carson (taken out early by robocalls in Iowa instigated by Cruz) are gone. What's left is the the brood parasite, in reality a brutal territorial predator hiding in plain view. And boy oh boy does Trump love the spotlight. Republicans who remain can't join him, he's just not one of them.

Another thing confusing to republicans is the idea that they might win after throwing in the towel twice after GW. I really think they have been intimidated by being seen as stepping in the path of "the first black president" and now "the first woman president". I saw a comment the other day that really made me think about how landmarks are perceived and have been racialized to advance political agendas; Does anyone describe Neil Armstrong as "the first white man on the moon"?

Of course not. Armstrong was a humble man who spoke on the moon for all of humanity. He unified the planet, for a moment.

    Not that it matters anymore

    But this is not true.

Bernie never advocated an 80% tax rate, he merely pointed out that at one point there was an 80% tax rate on the wealthy, but he would personally not propose to go that high

Anyways, talking tax rates is problematic anyways because I dont think a lot of people understand that an 80% tax rate does not mean the wealthy only keep 20% of their income

Trump is a one man show
let's see how far he can go

and let's see how long it takes that to be out there as his slogan....
    I just made that up....

I have nothing against that part of it...
    so can I be.

and piss on the Republican party myself.

    Grievances?

do you people really want the government or is it really religion in politics again dictating your reproductive organs and what you must do? Are we going backwards here?
You want them to dicate who can get married?
So you want more policing, and less freedoms?
You don't like the idea of equality for all?
You want to continue warring with all other countries?

I see who Trump picked as his VP...I fear who he will appoint to the Supreme Court.

Your worst fears may be confirmed. The Donald has already floated a list of anti-LGBT, anti-women's reproductive rights redhots put together with the help of right-wing groups like the Federalist Society and the Heritage Foundation that make the late Justice Scalia look like a flaming liberal. Notable Among them is Utah Senator Mike Lee, lead sponsor of the "First Amendment Defense Act" that would have allowed even government employees to discriminate against LGBTs on the basis of conscience. Lee also questions the constitutionality of Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, federal disaster relief, food stamps, food safety regulations, child labor laws, and minimum wage.

  12. Who do you think he is? I said who he is quite clearly. He's a former member of Bill's administration and is working for the Clinton campaign. So if you're trying to argue that he's a nutjob or whatever, like you did with our astronaut friend, then just one question: Why are the Clinton's hiring this nutjob?

But wait, the hits keep coming:

What's your apology for this one? 'Cause the evidence is really kind of building up that not everything is as it seems with the Clinton campaign. You guys are screwed.

Seems Trump quoted an article available only on Sputnik, a Russian site.
To compound that, the article falsely accused Sidney Blumenthal of saying the Benghazi attack was preventable.

The question is, how did Trump get false information from a Russian site? Did he know the source, did he know it was false, or is he and his staff just incompetent?

Kurt Eichenwald wrote the Newsweek piece quoted in an email released on Wikileaks and then presented out of context on Sputnik.

  15. He probably got it wrong because they need to divert attention away from the fact that the coronation of our dear queen is going so badly. Trump's the headline news, but the WikiLeaks are worse than anything he has ever done.

More media corruption: Donna Brazil, while working at CNN, forwarded the Hillary campaign questions that would appear at the town hall. So keep telling me how awful Trump is... Nobody even talks on the Hillary thread anymore. Gee, I wonder why.

That article basically says LGBT are/should be against allowing for increased numbers of refugees from anti gay countries...thus anti-Hillary, thus pro Trump....and based on non existent emails.

    Garbage

It's interesting to me that the Republicans consider themselves the real Americans yet their candidate is buddies with who was once our greatest enemy. And even post USSR things have never been too friendly. We tolerate each other but they are not like an England or France for example where if something goes down you know we help them.

If Obama has the same relationship with Putin it would be totally unacceptable. For years now I have heard Russia praised because Putin is strong and Obama is weak. Yeah you idiot dictators tend to be "strong" because they don't follow any due process. it's easy to get things done when you no one makes decisions but you. Putin is not a North Koran level dictator. But it's clear to me that people who make problems for him don't stick around. And he is not truly democratically elected. To respect a man like that means you don't respect the American ideal.

The phrase "everyday americans" not literally hating everyday American.

That's taken out of context, and you know it, which is why you posted someone elses image rather than a link to the actual email posted on wikileaks

You have to use such tactics now becuase Trumps campaign has turned to dog shit. Hillary will be your next Pres.

And again, Wikileaks is soooooo lame, oooh a "leaked" email about phrasing from one of her aides . Score! yaw-aw-aw-yawn

and the creep factor keeps getting creepier with this piece of shit. YUCK! I can't wait until he goes away, and I don't have to hear about him all day anymore.
I heard a commentary his tactic now is to bring Hillary as far down low as he can......that seems to be the trend...and not to discuss any issues....
I heard the evangicals feel homeless...as they have no where to go....Hillary will not have Roe v wade overturned and the recent talk they have heard Donald say about women.....but many of them will stay with Donald anyway, as Roe vs Wade overturned is their bigggest agenda...nevermind ANYTHING else.....Who do they think they are making decisions for everyone....In this way, I hate religion.
Why don't they get the second ammendment changed, too, while they are at....the so totally righteous,.

    Oh...here is creep father.

  22. No, that's not what it says at all, and the email in question is very much real. So I must ask you, are you getting paid by Correct the Record? Because you could be making $12 an hour (unless you're a woman.)

What do you mean out of context? That's how the email begins. The person is stating that Hillary has begun to hate everyday Americans and you can't think of a way to weasel out of what is being explicitly shown to you and everyone else! OMG it's so funny! [IMG]

Unfortunately for you and Hillary, the nation is paying attention to what is in those emails. Even CNN is being forced to cover it, albeit begrudgingly since they are a part of the machine to elect Clinton. They even have to set up Donald Trump to try and keep everyone from talking about the emails! Hi-larious!

    She's a fucking pig! They're both pigs!

I have a lot of concerns regarding the Russian narrative pushed by Democrats, as well as the party's relationship with the press - and the article touches upon both

But this part in particular is what reminded me of your above post
