I don't understand----isn't it the Republicans that support big business and work so hard to protect the tax write-offs and loopholes for the rich and for big business? Was I wrong all this time?

...Wait a minute! Does that mean? Oh no! Trump is a liberal democrat?!!!!

Did I miss something? I know he has broken quite a few laws (he even practically admitted to it in the debate last Monday----his excuse that maybe he did not like the work of those workers---if they are employed by him he has the right to fire them, not pay bonuses, or whatever, but legally he has to pay them for their work), but is their now evidence of tax fraud as well?

For a man in his position there are many ways to legally avoid paying taxes, as long as his tax accountants and lawyers shelter it correctly. But there are many ways to commit fraud too----especially when you have losses that you hide fraudulent write-offs under. Something that would be great for him to get caught at, but unfortunately he could all too easily cover it up and we would never know.

We are talking about the wealthiest people in the nation not paying any, or very small taxes proportionally to the rest of us.

Those who can afford to pay taxes the most, pay the least taxes.

The Tax Policy Center concluded that the sum of Clinton’s proposed tax changes — including changes to both individual and business taxes — would increase revenue by $1.1 trillion over the next decade.

You pay school taxes so that we end up with an educated society. That's one on our duties as citizens and it profits you and society as a whole whether you have children of your own or not.
Trump can live in his own world and doesn't really need to worry about the rest of society, as he has lots of money.

Trump just used those laws to avoid his obligation to ensure that the rest of society benefits in some way from his billions of dollars instead of hoarding it all to himself...like he needs more money.

He's so smart he can leave it to the chumps of society to pay for public roads, infrastructure, disaster relief, the military, clean air, etc.
You, Orison, live in Pittsburgh and I would think you would appreciate clean air and water! I remember when Pittsburgh was a hell hole.

He prides himself on sticking it to those chumps...by the way, we're the chumps. Then he gets those who have the most to loose to believe he's going to help them when he gets elected President!

    He's smart.

I know....I was making a point....I pay school tax, water tax, land tax...all kinds of taxes and I do it without complaining 99% of the time...It irks me when someone with so much money does not have to...that was my point....I guess i did not make my point very well.

I see...it's because we're stupid and Trump is smart.

Here's just a few reasons Trump is so smart....

Although we haven't seen the tax returns, the reason the Donald was able to come out so well seems to be that he had a one billion dollar capital loss in one year! On casinos! That's genius? I don't think I'd be able to do that by incorporating, because a billion dollars is something I don't expect to see in my present or future lifetimes, nor could I afford the legal and accounting talent to pull it off. Trump borrowed from the feds to fund his business ventures, declared bankruptcy, stiffed his creditors and the people working for him, and made out like a proverbial bandit. He has made his career on gaming the system. He says this enables him to understand where the loopholes are and close them, like the ex-burglars who give advice on home security. I say it enables him to use the powers of the Oval Office to scam us all blind, like he's been doing all his adult life. A fundamental maxim of ethics is the generality principle: what if everybody did it? If everybody had Trump as their role model, we'd have a Hobbesian society--the war of all against all, everybody for himself, and the Devil take the hindmost.

The $916 million was on his personal 1040 first page. Consequently, that means he did not file as a corporation, not that time anyways.

Yeah, he personally lost almost a billion dollars in one year!

So how much does he make in a normal year? Apparently not enough to live on as he has to find ways to avoid paying income tax so he can get by and let the rest of us fund the country.....ya know sorta like a welfare king. As Leona Hemsley said "Only the little people pay taxes".

    Donald Trump, the welfare king.

The Center For Public Integrity is reporting that Trump's real estate organization rented office space to Bank Melli, an Iranian bank that the US Treasury Department says is linked to terrorist groups and Iran's nuclear program. The Trump Organization kept the bank as a tenant for more than four years after it was designated as being controlled by the Iranian government, the report alleges.

I shudder to think what it would be like if everyone had Hillary as their role model.

"At the time, the U.S. had a sweeping embargo in place which prohibited Americans from doing business with Iran, including receiving rent payments. However, some Iranian organizations were granted licenses exempting specific transactions from sanctions If the payments were licensed, it may have been legally difficult for the Trump Organization to evict the bank.

they don’t know if Trump did anything wrong because they don’t know if this bank was licensed to operate despite the sanctions."

Trump was a private businessman at that time.

    His campaign has said

“Mr. Trump’s sole focus is and will be on making our country great again,” campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks said in an email. “He has already committed to putting his assets in a blind trust and will have no involvement whatsoever in the Trump Organization.”

The bank as a tenant was inherited when he bought the building from General Motors. Why did General Motors have them as a tenant?
