Carson is an SDA who only recently "became" a republican. I remember how people speculated about Romney's chances since he's an LDS. There's a world of difference between the two, but both are cryptic and odd to most Americans. The SDA church is not only highly fixated on "The end times", but they are also VERY bigoted toward "worldly" people (basically all of the rest of us). We don't need a president from a creepy "End of Days" cult to be in command of the nuclear arsenal. If the choice is somehow between these two, I'd prefer Trump. He's not a mystery from out of left field (like Obama) and he doesn't appear to make religion his obligation. For the record, anyone who makes a decision as an elected official based on their religion/faith is not following the law. Keep your church out of American politics.
Trump is pretending to be crazy to make dumb people like him and Carson is actually crazy. So I guess my answer is...who cares?
Rand is in the race..... Last time I checked. I like Rand more than the rest of 'em. But ever since he endorsed Mitt Romney, I cannot devote full trust in him. Ron Paul refused to endorse Romney, or McCain for that matter. The apple fell a little too far from the tree for my liking. Ron Paul was the best candidate last time and the time before. And unfortunately it looks like Rand Paul might be the best one in this case.
Yes Rand still is. Unfortunately,he is only pulling in about 3%. Probably the best Repub candidate. Sadly it is all about money and media intimacy.
A Bernie Sanders and Rand Paul race would be awesome but America has gone too far into idiocracy for that to happen.
Not saying anything positive about Trump, but Carson is such a fucking fool. Two quotes from today: "The Ark was built by amateurs. The Titanic was built by professionals." He also said that he believes that the Egyptian pyramids were built for grain storage. I guess the message for today is if you want something done right, hire somebody who doesn't know anything about it. Also, the pyramids are almost completely solid rock, with small burial chambers inside. Supporters explain that the facts about the pyramids don't matter; it's all about what Carson believes to be true about them, because faith is everything. :dizzy2: :bomb: :wall:
I do like what Trump is doing to sabotage the Bush legacy. It's a good thing to because rubber stamp republicans who used to like the Bush family are listening to what Trump is saying and they're finally internalizing it. That's the only positive thing I can say about Trump.
In an earlier incarnation, Kasich was a congressman & part of that aborted "Contract w/ America" in the mid-90s, under the tutelage of Dick Armey. But @least he's held elective office & has some experience running a campaign (which's helped neither him nor Jeb!). Carson & Trump are rank amateurs, beholden to a band of advisers & hangers-on that'll jump ship as soon as a more viable candidate appears on the horizon. If one doesn't, then they'll settle down & the comic nonsense should cease, altho it is this nonsense that's getting 'em press now. It's the press that'll need to tire of nonsense, presumably in 2016.
Many voters seem to think that the inexperience of Trump and Carson makes them better qualified than the politicians who have been "contaminated" by association with government. I think it either makes them more dependent on their advisers (and we don't know who those are or who they will be) or means that they will be making amateur decisions on matters of foreign policy, national security, and the economy on their own--the presidency as on the job training..
The president bombed Libya, Syria, Somalia, Yemen, Afghanistan, and sold several munitions to the Syrian rebels during those 8 years of peace and prosperity. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
