I'm going to make the dogs some new blanket jackets.

I found fleece blankets on sale for $3 each.

    You'll need velcro strips, too.

I enlarged this pattern about 8x's, if I remember correctly, because I have large dogs.

I made some mistakes enlarging my patterns, but it's to the plus side so that's okay.

I had to measure my dogs with string because the are frightened of a measuring tape.

I didn't half the neck or chest measurements so those sraps are too long, I'm left with a double thickness on the front of the chest; which I sewed shut anyway.

The chest straps will cross under the dog and velcro on top, which I like better. The dog feels double secure around there and I can see the velcro when I'm fastening it.

Also, we use harnesses on the dogs so I made big button holes for the D-ring to poke through.

I have one figured out and done except for the velcro.

Poor dog. She's finally catching on every time I get her out of her "doggie house" indoor kennel to try something on her and then put her right back in.

We have cats in the house too so it's a lot less crazy if the dogs lay in their kennels while inside.

The cats are little miffed because I have them closed up in the bedrooms while I sew.

Hey that's a really cute idea. Where did you find the fleece blankets for $3.00?

My doggie blankie jackies ended up needing lots of adjustment around the neck area.

I also did away with the velcro and made longer straps that I cross under the dog and tie on top of the shoulder area.

    The dogs like them.
