Does This Whole Isis Thing Remind You Of The Red Scare At All?

I don't know about the 'red scare', but this IS thing has certainly eclipsed the Putin scare, at least in the UK media.
No doubt they'll get back to that soon.

The fact that there are fundamentalist muslims within Syria and Iraq attempting to establish a state (and engaged in conflicts with Turkish Kurds) is pretty much indisputable.

Should the US government be engaged in a bombing campaign? Disputable. Should they send combat soldiers? Disputable.

Does ISIS execute hostages? Indisputable. That is how ransoms work. Does that matter? Disputable.

 

I do not know if anyone else has mentioned this, but it kind of reminds me of the movie wag the dog...The basic premise from the movie at least..
