Like I said, we never enslaved another race. And look, we can post examples of each country being racist all day, fact is America has a much darker and bloodier history when it comes to how they treat minorities.

My half of the country didn't enslave black people, and like I said blame the British, they allowed their colonies to build an economic system dependent on slavery.

Besides, we banned the international slave trade at same time Britain did, we were ahead of most countries in that regard even if it still persisted in our country internally because of the federalist system.

Also, let's go to the more recent future, Australia had a white Australia policy until the 1970's and blackface comedy on national TV in the 1970's too, at least we came to a national consensus here that maybe that's a bit too racist by the late 1930's.

Also you guys didn't give your native people the right to vote/citizenship until 1967, at least we did it in 1924 right after women got the vote.

 

I think Australia was the first, if not one of the first to give women the right to vote.



I think a few of them are smiling, oh yes, giving black people the right to vote really made you guys a lot less racist. There's a lot more where that came from if you wanna keep playing the tally game. you guys did a much better job of documenting your racism, tons of pics and vids out there, makes my end of the debate a lot easier.

 

Perhaps the topic of this thread should be changed to "Reliving the history of Homo Sapien Sapiens"? The rationale behind the study of history is/should be to learn from mistakes in order to not repeat them, and NOT to assign guilt by association based upon race. Based upon the mindset of many posts it would appear that everyone could be found guilty of some inhumane or criminal act in association with their ancestry. Learn from the past, live in the present, and try and reduce the problems that future generations will have to face.

Oh jesus if we get that specific every original state is evil. Alright so if we take t literally my state did in fact enslave blacks and in fact up to about to about 1830 there were a couple of hundred slaves left in the state. My state was also one of the first to ban the slave trade in 1774 internationally and in 1778 in state, and in 1784 passed a statute to allow for gradual emancipation once slaved born reached 21. Of the 13 colonies we were the third lowest in slave number, Rhode Island had about 1/2 as many and New Hampshire only had about 200 because of it's small size.

SO WHAT! Blacks have been enslaved, Whites have been enslaved, Asians Have been enslaved, Humans of all skin colors have been enslaved at some point in the historic past.

The racial issue is the most recent in human history and the effects still linger in many cultures today, including, and especially, American.
