make you just as responsible for the killings that go on everyday on this earth.. Few things I cannot stand: God Bless America Support our troops or when our government posts pictures of dead soldiers and Marines and calls them heros for dying..or dying for freedom, a true farce
I don't like the idea that people don't believe you can support the troops without supporting the war.
I dislike all those things as well (edit: actually the Support our troops don't bother me a lot, perhaps if I would be confronted with it all the time though) but: No, it depends to what extent you support your country's military wether you are jus as responsible for the things they do. But killing enemies seems to be only one facet of the military to me. So you can support different things.
No. Not always. I would venture to guess that many people who don't support the troops also don't support our government. Allegiance to a country or government and devotion to a military often go hand in hand. It seems to me that people who love their country have a need to define themselves as part of a group, something larger than themselves. In all seriousness: what does "support" our troops mean to you? I've heard it so many times that it has become merely a platitude.
I don't want one from you. Partly because you're being pretentious. mostly because you threatened over and over again that you were going to put me on ignore, and alas, you didn't!
Oh, I did Fine then you don't get a smart point, I take it away from you. Back to zero you go! But only because you insisted.
I cannot support the troops or even the mentality that would cause a person to join the military and become somebody else's pawn in the first place. If you support the troops, then you also support the atrocities they have committed. Why would I want to do that, and why would I support the troops since they don't really do anything for me or for the country they believe to be theirs? This whole "support the troops" line is really just something people have been trained to parrot without really thinking much about. The troops are not serving their fellow countrymen, but the military industrial complex which is hell bent on bringing this country to its knees. That is a fact.
I support the troops in the sense that I hope they come home safe. So I suppose that's that not complete support.. I don't want them killing anyone, but I don't want them killed either.
