The word has become overly used, it's a word that carries inherent appeal to emotion, so I think alot of it's use now is applied when one doesn't have a more substantive argument or wants to make a rash declaration.

I think this oversaturation has a paradoxical side effect of lessening the strength of the word.

I can see that. Racism is still racism, and it's always going to be wrong.

But the word "racist" has definitely lost its sting due to overuse. But is it overused because people are using it incorrectly? Or is it because there's a lot of fucken racism in the world, and we're only now calling it out?

The word itself isn't overused so much as it is misused

The racist ad-hominem card has been overplayed. For example, CNN is saying that coloring robots white is a form of racism. When lunatics like this keep trying to find racism in places where it doesn't exist, people aren't going to take that word seriously. Problem with this is that when real racism emerges, people are likely to overlook it. Just like the little boy who cried wolf.

    Here's the article.
Robot racism? Yes, says a study showing humans' biases extend to robots - CNN

"God damn white people and their... (shuffles deck, flips card).... robots!"
Am I right, my fellow progressives?

Actually the word racism on itself also. Because of the sentiment that racism is racism a joke about grape juice gets equated with excluding blacks from university or cracking a whip on someone's back until they get back to work (as it is all racism and racism is bad). This is why nuancing racism is still useful and motive/intent of a racist remark matters.
If it was because of the latter it technically wouldn't be overused.

Its overused by people who generalize everything racist as the worst kind of racism. But it isn't as uniform as people like to put it.

Well, you often ignore historic context. This is just as bothersome as people equating a joke about grape juice with racial/ethnic discrimination with serious consequences

  6. I don't mean to sound racist, but black robots are scary. I'd much prefer to be killed by a white robot.

Yes, I think many now lump any sort of bias in with racism and others just use the word arbitrarily.

Most recent example is calling Robots "racist" because in movies robots are generally depicted as white. The article cites I Robot as an example, since it features all white robots, overlooking the fact that the main protagonist in the movie is black and we all know that if the roles were reversed and we had a white protagonist detective shooting and destroying black robots, that would be viewed as racist too.

The article also mentions that humanoid robots are being developed as predominantly white, this person writing the article or doing the study has clearly never seen Japan's humanoid robots.

If they would've made black robots instead, I guarantee CNN would've complained about white people trying to revive black slavery or some shit like that. There's no winning with these SJWs; they always gotta find something unimportant to gripe and bitch about.

The word Robot originates from the Czech word 'robota' which translates to forced labor, or slavery.

  12. It's not like there are really any truly white or black people. Nobody's as white as a sheet of paper or as black as ink. Well, not many people, anyway.

the hatred of logic, consideration, honesty and imagination, is not a biological imperative.
the nature of reality is diversity, and the only person you can choose for is yourself,
but it IS still a choice, which each of us, is totally responsible for making.

(also labels like sjw and pc, create a false narrative against consideration and logic, and really exist for no other reason then to do so)

    this is logical
but may at times require meanness to be more specifically defined.

also the term, though obviously implied, is bigoted or prejudiced, as racist refers specifically, and thus rather too narrowly, to race.

  19. I laughed at a racist joke once. Someone said something to the effect of, "It's eleven o'clock. That's when the darkies come out." And it was just so ludicrous that I had to laugh. So sometimes I think racism is funny, but almost always it isn't. When it's self-deprecating I guess it is, when it's totally ridiculous and over-the-top, so that no one could possibly take it seriously.

  20. I get up at 6 am usually every day. Broke that joke in half! Word Karate! YAAH
