I'm not saying it's not true. I'm just questioning it's validity ? Which "religion" is "right" ? Islam ? Judaism? Christianity? Catholicism ?

I'm just questioning the rationale and motivation behind teh choice to dictate your life ( in 2008 ) by a book that is from before the time that people thought the Earth was flat.

Besides it's been in countless languages , that aren't even spoken anymore , before it was translated to English. How much do you think may have been misinterpreted ?

What make makes it more correct that the Torah or Qu'ran?

All questions that , when I ask a cristian , i get a bad additude from them and no response.

That’s something each person should decide for themselves. I’m not here to twist any arms.

Actually the Bible describes the earth as a sphere that hangs on nothing, which seems quite accurate for a book that was written when people still thought the earth was flat.

Well this depends on whether it’s God’s word or not. If it’s God’s word one would think that he might take a hand in making sure that all people no matter what language they speak, where they live or during what time period; they would still be able to get the truth. Incidentally the Bible has been translated into far more languages than any other book.

Actually the Torah is part of the Bible.

Sounds like you’ve been asking the wrong “Christians”.

My main question is where did the idea of "God" come from ? Why doesn't he talk to people anymore and why don't we experience any biblical events that the book describes ? If there is a "God" , why does he let things continue teh way they are ? Can't "he" see we're in bad shape ?

I'd have him change alot of things. To many to list.

But I'm just trying to find answers to questions that I've been asking all my life tht no one wants to answer.

It depends on who you ask. If you ask someone who does not believe God exists then you will be told something like; God is a made up concept that originally soothed the mind of the primitive savage and later was used to control the masses. If you ask someone who believes in God you’ll probably be told that God himself put the idea in our hearts and minds.
The miracles of the Bible were done to accomplish specific purposes. Now that those purposes have been accomplished there is no longer any need for them.
Many feel that miracles step outside the laws of the universe but they do not. God must not act outside the laws that he has created thus even though it may seem that God is letting things continue as they always have. He is not. He has put into motion things that will correct those things you see as wrong. But God can not speed things up by braking the laws that he has put into effect.
Yes, he can and as I said has put into motion things that will help us.

Many of us have similar lists but don’t realize that some things can not be changed with out first changing the laws of the universe, which could very well mean the end of the universe and ourselves as well.

Actually, many would love to answer your questions but I guess you just have to ask the right people.

Why the fuck would you want God to do your OWN work. This earth is YOUR responsibilty, not God's.

Maybe God is here now to save the day, WHO KNOWS :\

What are you talking about? If God (God the CREATOR, not Father) CREATED life/universes than wouldn't he be ABLE to destroy and create laws?

You can bound GodF by law, but not the Creator. It isn't God whose saving you, it's the Creator.

Yes, but what you fail to see is what would happen if he destroyed a law. What law would you have him destroy? How about gravity? What would happen to the universe? what would happen to you? If God the CREATOR does actually want the universe (that he created) to continue to exist then he needs to be careful about what laws he destroys. He might even feel it necessary to work within the laws he has created just to keep the universe in existence.

No, YOU can't bind God with laws but God himself may find it necessary or desirable to work within the laws that HE has made.

I didn't say I wanted "God" to do anything for me. I'm not even part of any religion. I was asking a question to a Christian.

Anyway , if these biblical events took place within the last 5000 years , what was "God" doing in the 4 billion years before the Bible events ?

And what are your views on evolution the dinosaurs ?

Maybe God is loafing, and man has the choice of either doing his work or demanding that he pull his finger out. I don't know that we ever drew up a job list, so man only has man's word for it on what is and isn't his responsibility. You say it's OUR responsibility not God's, but where are you getting that from?

God made the earth, if he gave it to idiots like us to look after then sorry, but how is that responsible parenting? It's like giving a toddler a Ming vase to play with.

Just to clarify here: this has never been a widely held belief.

God fucked off to his paradise island and sent his son into the superuniverses.

The evolution of the dinosaurs are what we now call the "reptillians". Since they were here first, they think they own our planet/universe. They were killed off in a nuclear war and sent off into space.

Which is why "God" (which stands for Good or Devil btw) sent the Eternal Son (who is now the Eternal Good/Father/God).

The God in the old testament is evil, a fucking devil.. Fucking bastard.

Don't forget, a lot of them were killed in a nuclear war.

    Sad.
