I never said believers were rotten to the core. You're putting words in my mouth like a shady relig-a-tool.

WOW, sometimes people actually do good things despite their ignorance's!? That's just fucking amazing,

Tell your God to give me a reasonable response; Why are so may Gods sadistic jack asses?

Or is it just ONE schizophrenic masochistic bipolar egomaniac God, sending his pawn toy people into endless warfare?

I assume you mean why are so many gods sadistic jackasses and the reason is it is by your invocation. Ask your unimaginative head to come up with a question that you don't supply the answer to! There is nothing unreasonable about my response so I don't need to farm it out or refer to reason you don't believe in. When will your god cease his endless warfare against the devout who just don't share your level of devotion to a specific construct? You look less than bright in doing it.

So what periodic element has anything to do with good or evil? What REALITY are you talking about? You mean your abstract conceptions?

There's this plane of REALITY called planet earth where literately millions upon millions live in relentless agony, starvation, horrific diseases... A place where Gods and egos take part in endless horrific bloody warfare and most prayers go unanswered. A place where so much death and misery in the name of faceless conflicting Gods that these REAL people have to invent IMAGINARY worlds and "realities" to keep from going completely insane. In this plane of reality called planet earth, it seems obvious that these sadistic jackass Gods that cower behind mans "invocations", are nothing more than INVENTIONS from the egotistic fantasies of sadistic jackass people.

If you live in a different reality where God is real and God is good, then I shouldn't be able to see your posts because I am clearly NOT in a REALITY where God is real or good or really good... If you're God is really good and really powerful then wouldn't it be an unquestioned universal fact?

According to you you live in a reality that has no god is that not correct? This place on earth where literally millions upon millions live happily and free of disease and amply fed have you to account for horrors and jackasses and gods. Your invocations leave you dissatisfied.

Reality check in line three, reality check in line three...

What percentage of the worlds population do you think is happy and disease free and well fed?

Well according to the world food program hunger stats,
14.3 percent are undernourished, that leaves 85.7 percent that are adequately fed.
As far as the health statistics I venture that the healthy component of individuals in the world kind of mirrors nutrition and poverty levels.
Like I say your invocations are making you disproportionately pessimistic.

I would also say that virtually everyone experiences happiness albeit transiently but it's frequency can be improved on.

I blame it all on evolution. Evolution is an incremental, uneven and often nasty process, producing outcomes that are remarkable but far from morally or even physically perfect. And the results are ambiguous, as far as evidence of God is concerned. I think the gods (and spirits) of early human evolution were, as you put it, "fantasy beings invented by people for coping and controlling". The universality of religion indicates that it was either adaptive, giving humans the confidence and stress relief they needed to deal with unpredictable and challenging situations, or was a "spandrel"--a byproduct of other faculties that were vital to our survival, like perception of patterns and agency in ambiguous environments or a tendency to believe what trusted leaders tell us. Chiefs, shamans, and priests used religion for their own agendas. But it wasn't all bad. Early on, ethical ideas were introduced into religion. In Mesopotamia by the third millenium, justice for the poor, the orphaned, and the widow was a duty of kings, decreed by the sun god Shamesh, and in Egypt it was understood that the sun would continue to shine only if Pharoah did not oppress his subjects. In China, when the Zhou overthrew the Shang dynasty, they said it was because the Shang king had forfieted the mandate of heaven by being a tyrant. From then on, the emperor was expected to be "in harmony with the little people". The period from 900 to 200 BCE, known as the Axial Age, saw the rise of great world ethical traditions: Confucianism, Taoism, Hinduism of the Upanishads, Buddhism, and Socratic philosoophy. The great Hebrew Prophets, Amos, Hosea, Micah, and Isaiah made clear that God was more concerned with righteousness than with ritual. Isaiah said that the God of Israel was the God of all humanity. And Jesus emphasized unconditional love for society's rejects.

The process is still going on. Memes are in competition within and among the major world religions: fundamentalists versus progressives versus followers of esoteric traditions. Some of the competing god-memes are sadistic jackasses. The god-meme that motivates ISIS (not to be confused with the goddess) fits that description. Important Muslim religous leaders have denounced it, but it remains to be seen what the future holds for it. I find it hard to understand why that should shape my own understanding of reality and my own conceptions of God,except to appreciate that if everyone followed the messages of Peace, Love and Understanding taught by Jesus and the other great prophets since antiquity, none of the evil stuff would be happening.

The "new atheism" meme is a relatively new entrant into the fray. Here again, there seem to be competing variants among atheist memes i could be wrong, but if I had to bet, I'd place my money on the moderate, tolerant variant I find in Oklahoma over the angry, combative mutation found in this thread. Between jackass gods and a jackass anti-god, most normal folks would find little to choose.

Well, when the percentage of undernourished drops to 10%, I shall feel 4.3 percent better about the problem of undernourishment.

That is a sensible reaction. To my knowledge no one goes hungry in my sphere of influence. The majority of my professional life was spent cooking and it is fundamentally in my nature to nourish or seek nourishment for those things I identify with. What is not sensible is to say, it is because of fucked up gods that they do.

That, in reference to Cause in our lives being caused, is not about defining God at All, I believe it's about defining the conditioned Being of human reality in the midst of Nature. Are we immoral just driving a car and giving the local gas-station owner a boost for his sales? Are we immoral extravagantly wasting a trip up to the Cottage and taking advantage of a weekend with a lower gas price? One should see this is an issue of the way the action is occurring in Consciousness. There is nothing sub-conscious about it. Is there?

Not quite. They say that Brahman (God) is actually the only reality. If we perceive opposites such as good and evil, that's because of our dualistic consciousness.

This point. Athman does not have anything to do with an ultimate Cause or the sequence of causality it causes to our aid at knowing. Athman, I get now, is the focus at the known being for, say definition overcome by God being beyond Definition. The understanding of the known is at disunity and cycle coming for the Becoming per God truly instead the sole Cause. Don't believe it; man by nature hates Nature.... :punk:

This reminds me of thoreau who I found in my heart and set myself to testing the bounds of my relationship to creaturehood in the wilderness. On return I find there is nothing subconscious about it but there is everything abstract about it.This abstract quality is the machine of quantum arrangement so it is highly susceptible to concentration. A focused mind generates large oscillation certainly in the form of and at least an individuals diligent activity. We are forgetful to the expense of remembering where and who we are and so we find ourselves estranged. Mostly we are too tolerant of mind wandering and therefor are easily led en masse.

One is many, many One. That is all you know, and all you need to know. Until more is revealed at bedtime, when the moon comes over the mountain, and all the trolls go fishing. Just becasue our cause is just doesn't mean it's the First Cause, because it could be the last--the chickenless egg or the eggless chicken. Just because our cause is pure, with a heart that's true and golden, Atman may give us insight, but not out site or out of sight, so cause becomes effect. Causation is not correlation. Becoming is greater than being, but being is greater thatn nothingness. We may be asking far too much or too little. If the quality of mercy is not strained, it becomes very lumpy. Man hates Nature, but Nature abhors a vaccum, so fools rush in where Atman fears to tread. Try that on your Captain Midnight decoder ring!

Amply fed is now adequately fed. The bottom 14% is actually in extreme poverty and literally starving to death.
From 14 to 80% they live on pennies to $2.50 a day. Would you be happy in a chinese labor camp making $1.50 for a 12 hour work day and being "adequately fed" on mostly plain rice and the occasional treat of goat head stew. Hell, i'm in the top 10% and only meet about 1.2 of your three listed QOL factors. Is happiness from denial the way a Godly world should run? Keek the poor in the dark about how good the rich have it and keep the rich in denial about how bad the poor have it. Is it any wonder that our rich society is dominated by a religion based on vicarious redemption through the suffering and sacrifice of others?
