Well you say the bible claims but haven't shown where those things are claimed by the teacher portrayed in the bible not to be antagonistic to what you are saying. As far as healing in an unorthodox way I don't find anything unorthodox about healing. It is fortuitous in any sense. Jesus was shown to have relied on a persons own mental state in overcoming their ailments with the terms your faith has healed you.
On walking on water is is written that the observers didn't comprehend what they were seeing thinking it was a spirit that they witnessed, Perhaps a manifestation of communal mind and I can't exactly say mass hallucination because of the figure jesus responding of his own accord.
Of course any mention of miraculous events could be construed metaphorical expression of principle or even urban myths that are in fact beside the fact of any real message.
Certainly it could be suggested that the addition of peter walking on water can easily have been an embellishment focusing on the point of the power of imagination, or faith.

AS far as resurrection technology. i don't know if it is possible that consciousness exists in some state other than metabolically embodied or if we have in us the capacity for some kind of physical metamorphosis akin to those of insects, i.e. taking on a spiritual body. In the story of jesus in the tomb it could be interpreted as a pupation event lasting a few days and it is written that his covering remained in the tomb although his body wasn't there....Many observations have indicated that programmed cell death plays a considerable role during physiological processes of multicellular organisms, particularly during embryogenesis and metamorphosis. Our position as it is now could be a larval form of some more complex scaffolding for consciousness, at least I have an open and imaginative mind on the subject. In any event I am personally unaware of a time when I was not.

It is not beyond the realm of legitimate human activity however and of this sciences are made. I would also add that while there is good material there are horrible distortions based on that same material.

It is interesting how quickly you can become dismissive of what other say without even stopping to reflect on what was said to you .
The Bible says many things about slaves, so?
My tactics? You say something that is not true and I call you on it and now I'm nitpicking on trivial errors.

May be you should just admit when you've made a mistake.

And I'm not doing any ignoring, the scripture you point out is not wrong. It is taking it out context and your ignoring all the rest of what the Bible says on the subject that is wrong.

Heaven can just mean the sky but in this case I believe the abode of God and his angels is what is being spoken of.

I could help but notice that you didn't answer my question, so I'll repeat it for you.

Perhaps in your infinite wisdom you can explain how a "person" who is conscious of nothing can experience an "eternity of incalculable horror and agony, which will never cease nor wane, for all time, and ever and ever"? (Ecclesiastes 9:5)
Wouldn't that be text book taken out of context?
Now be honest how many times have you read the Bible front to back or do just let the internet tell you what is soppose to be in the Bible?
First of all the illustration was to demomstrate what an evident demonstration of a reality not yet behold is.

And yes if you want to see YWHW up close and personal so you can poke and prod him, you do have a problem.
There is plenty of evident demonstration, it is all around you, I can't help it if you want to ignore and dismiss it.

You might find it interesting to note that when archeology finds papyrus copies of the Bible dating back to the 1st century and beyond and they have been compared them to what we have it now, seems the Bible is accentually unchanged.
It is interesting that you would say that, there are those who have repeated Darwin's observations and have come to differing conclusions.

^ It's a problem for most people in the modern world who maintain ethical standards.

There are some people (I assume like yourself) that maintain The Bible is the arbiter of moral standards. The Bible's standards appears to be at odds with the reality of modern day ethical standards in regards to slavery.

You may not care considering your irrational beliefs that the book you call the word of god was established in it's current form as far as material included 300 years after the life of jesus which in fact was a political exercise haggled over by a group of priests. We don't even know what materials the early adherents were using in their entirety. There is much material that we didn't even know existed until modern times, things like the gospel of thomas. There is no new testament material even existing before the first century and before 300 there was no standardized christian bible. There are no papyrus copies of the bible, there are papyrus copies of books or sections of books. So to say that some books are essentially intact from early times doesn't speak for the whole material or whether original concepts were faithfully preserved in every sense. Surely jesus himself said much more than is recorded the book.

Not so and your inability to address the issue directly instead of answering by asking leading questions presents a problem for everyone listening. You are not getting your point across mostly because you do not genuinely address the issue. What is meant by the lake of fire or the outer darkness?

When the body dies the soul itself dies as well. The soul is the sensation of self/spirit in the body. The spirit of god that comes into a man through the breath, being of god does not die ever. It cannot die being not in fact mortally corporeal. The breath goes into and out of the body. It is the individuals consciousness of spirit that goes into slumber and is in fact obscure to many living as they are consumed by the brutal evidence of the body's decay over time.

I can't help but notice that you do not respond to my questions so...

This brings up again the question if all scripture is inspired by god and useful then why don't you study other scripture besides the bible? Why wouldn't god be able to speak in any language or form or specifically to any culture or cultural practice?

Of course you must realize that the "modern world's" "ethical standards" are subjective at best and change with the wind direction.

In case you haven't noticed there are people cutting the heads off of other people in this "modern world" of yours.
Quite frankly, from what you have said so far, it seems you have no idea what the Bible's standards are in regards to slavery. It seems that to you that the fact the Bible even uses the word slavery is enough to condem the Bible.

Then that is not a reality not beheld even if you want to ignore or dismiss it.

Don't just ridicule without example. Where are your apologetics on the subject? What are the bibles standards in regards to slavery?

Evidence for something that will soon happen is not the thing happening and so you can so much evidence that a thing is about to happen, you can guarantee that it will happen even though it has not happen as of yet.

Come on guerillabedlam, don't leave me dangling at your mercy. It seems we can't have one without the other. I guess he counts popular demand more relevant than personal inquiry.

For those who think we are all going to do that in heaven, I've always wondered what they think "the meek shall inherit the earth" means and when that will happen? Psalm 37:11 (KJV)
