How do you know what is needed? I thought you said life yielded only to more life, which I regard as accurate by the way. Is it needless that life yield because it will be rested from you anyway?
Saying man does not live by bread alone. What thing then would cause one to live forever death being needless. Death is without need of any kind.
Life yields only to more life, not because it can be wrested from us, but because we love. I don't think I can invoke any one thing in reply to that question. Life itself is currently my 'closest' answer. It's as though my love wants my silence on this point!
The first cut the deepest I guess. Listen do you want to know a secret, do you promise not to tell...
If life can't be its consumption alone... but what am I saying?! Perhaps it can be! The all consuming flame of our consummation! The bread of lifes ongoing discovery needn't be a cover-up. Let it mushroom before us that we can split hairs rather than atoms over what it is! lol
No. I don't go in for hair-cuts, nor do I put others down for them. Sometimes I am bald, but not through slavery. You didn't know me to be the breeze? What a muppet! ;-D ( Happy hunting, and feasting! Take care! )
i am not advocating that mortals and non-mortals deny each other their mutual blessings. only that we stop lying to ourselves about what we do not know.
Do you advocate believing in something for which there is no evidence to support its existence outside of imagination? Belief, after all, when taken too seriously, can have negative affects on society because those beliefs allow people to think they have a monopoly on the truth. A truth that ultimately negatively affects others. When those beliefs can do harm, how can those beliefs be beneficial?
I have devotion to curiosity. Devotion to curiosity is a miserable state if there is nothing to meet it. Imagination is evidence of some kind of existence even if it be to make something out of nothing. Imagination is pure projection from memory as is the sense to make sense of things. People who believe in the fashion You complain of were taught what to believe so they have nothing but hope for something that is not their own and they look to resolution in some mystical future. They become maudlin, blood of jesus, blood of jesus, thank god jesus is dead and eagerly await their own demise. There are a few different issues in your question and statement. Belief without curiosity is a refusal to look. If you don't look where you are going you are bound to mishap. They don't what they are doing so you cannot assign harmful intent. What is not true does not exist. To say that delusion has effect on what is real is trying to bring truth to illusion and make it real. On the other hand if you bring illusion to the truth, the truth dispels illusion, or the illusion is exposed as disappointing. You cannot get any lit exposure however from the refusal to look so some of those remain full of illusions counting them as sight but those who see can avoid them. So regarding the question does god exist. The proper tack is to look for evidence not deny that evidence exists. In looking for evidence as I said in the beginning there are things we can say most definitely about god. God first and foremost is a word and words are symbols of conditional arrangements. The most obvious conditional arrangement of the word god is the invoking of god, i.e. I believe in god in adjunct to what ever characters you want to assign. God as creator or god as nonexistent, both are invocations of god's authority.
No, belief is believing in something which does not exist; something which is not proven. It's taking a leap of faith, trusting that something exists. There is no proof in God and not even any proof in Jesus. Those who believe are the same types who believed in Horus in Egypt about 450 years before Christ was declared by Paul; 70 years after Christ allegedly existed. Christ's life is the exact same thing as Horus. If you need faith and belief to think there is a god, then your invoking him for you. There's no evidence he exists so many reject the idea of believing in something so controlled by men.
Faith is necessary for the formation of perception and the argument for this statement exist already in this thread but I would be glad to discuss this issue again if you object.
Faith is NOT necessary. Many people go through life, making good wages, with no faith. It is not necessary for the formation of perception. All that is necessary for something to be perceived is visual confirmation. God doesn't give that. Ergo, he is faith alone; believing in something never seen, heard, etc.
When you are a child you are wholly trusting of your parents providence as they begin to teach you to make distinctions in life. This is what makes it possible to learn a consensual view of reality. Visual confirmation is the assurance of faith. I look because I expect to find.
Visual or auditory confirmation is the basis of facts and learning. When a child touches a stove, and if it is on, he/ she burns her hand. THAT is the tactile confirmation that the stove, when on it hot. When mom and dad TELL the child do not touch the stove because it is hot, the child may LISTEN, but is not SURE the stove is hot. They may BELIEVE what their parents say, but have not confirmed the existence of heat on the stove for themselves. UNTIL they confirm it with tactile and or visual and or auditory confirmations, nothing exists for anyone. Some may have FAITH in what they are being TOLD about being a child of some deity in the sky, but it doesn't confirm there is a deity in the sky.
When mom and dad TELL the child there is a deity in the sky, the child may LISTEN, but is not SURE there is a deity in the sky. They may BELIEVE what their parents say, but have not confirmed the existence of a deity in the sky for themselves. UNTIL they confirm it with tactile and or visual and or auditory confirmations(and I might add emotional, a much more honest sense), nothing exists for anyone. Some may have FAITH in what they are being TOLD about being a child of some deity in the sky, but it doesn't confirm there is a deity in the sky.
If you will see I have addressed your concerns in the very post of mine you quoted. . In the case evidence for god we can't rely on supernatural as an explanation. There is the solid and visible evidence of conception, the word god. The word god has a substantive meaning coming from our conscious development. The word god at it's inception means, that which we invoke. God is a verb, not a noun.
