Yes. One with a spiritual belief is capable of causing as much harm to society as one with a religious belief.
Capable of but not by default doing so. One without any spiritual belief is capable of doing the same, right?
So, in your theological classes it never was pointed out that religion also had positive contributions to humanity? Because when I was a history student it was pointed out to me (and I found out myself too, don't worry ) that there are many. If your education spends a part of it's classes on history, or the influence of religion on society both today and in the past, you must have noticed some of those constructive influences as well. Did you skip those classes? Or does your college/university perhaps focus on a(nti)theistic theology? My education was not on a christian college by the way
You would like that. But just because they didn't use the word atheism or the exact phrase does not make your words right.
That is your opinion. It is not irrelevant at all. That it is not only destructive and bad is the key issue (or better said, it has become the key issue in this thread because atheists has made it the key issue once again)! So, was it teached or not?
You wouldn't like to be open minded, reasonable, rational and logical with me. I am one who Testifies. I'm a Living Witness. Do you know what those things are? But you're decided and fixed. That's fine because so am I. I recommend / suggest taking the necessary time to familiarize yourself with those things, before making *reactionary* thoughts.
As an ex-theist, one who has since become quite open-minded in relation to the reality that there exists no evidence for any god, I am quite familiar with what you consider yourself and precisely what silly, close-minded apologists arguments you would offer in accordance to your fallible faith.
...The fact that unjustified beliefs can have a consoling influence on the human mind is no argument in their favor. If every physician told his terminally ill patients that they were destined for a complete recovery, this might also set many of their minds at ease, but at the expense of the truth. ~ Sam Harris
Do you understand what Testimony is? I don't offer arguments. I Testify. I know that you do know nothing about it and you never will. I could walk you right through every bit, piece, part and detail .. you will never be able to grasp ANY of it. You lack the will. I can easily see, you are not open-minded to what you've decided to be against.
You offer lies, in other words. Lies you prefer to view as truth because of a little something called cognitive dissonance. As soon as the truth of reality is revealed to you, your cognitive dissonance kicks in and allows you to offer further lies that you think convincingly backs up the the former lies. I can easily see that you would rather remain in the comfortable arms of close-mindedness by ignoring the truth of reality.
It is not answering my question at all. It is simply focussing on the negative again, I was asking if your education teached positive examples as well?
Thanks for correcting my spelling Now, despite it being irrelevant to you (it isn't btw) did they taught it? You could even answer with a simple yes or no, so it is curious you are being so evasive
