How about the idea of god being a binary self replicating fractal algorithm, as proposed by Jakob Boehme? In this way do you feel it possible for god to exist?
I'd say not. God, as I understand the concept, is worthy of ultimate human devotion. Why would anyone want to be ultimately devoted to that?
Naturally, as mankind's knowledge base grows, It stands to reason that our concept of what god is must change. In the end, the question might not be whether god exists or not, but rather, what is gods true nature.
Oakifreak, let me clairify just so I dont take your question out of context..do you mean why would anyone want to be devoted to an algorithm?
One thing I will say after watching the 'History' channel for a couple hours last night... In regards to varying interpretations of Holy Texts, Deities and the limits of Scientific Knowledge, I will say the show Ancient Aliens has done a fantastic job of capitalizing on these gaps.
Should relaxxx have a focused and dynamic relation to the super-ego that'd be a fine accomplishment . It could be humanly observable , describable - cause and effect / one human to the whole . Hmm . Will the mean-spirited be allowed access ? A New Age metaphysical model addresses this , asserting that the human communal mind has protection - a guardian - a Council of Twelve . No ? Well , then what of the Nu-Sphere ? A planetary mind . Would human be entitled to Nu-Sphere authority ? I s'pose even a tikoo could subvert that simply as consensus minus one . Sparrow say no sorrow in that . Life is more and more .
http://youtu.be/9UtdjVWSluo When biblical and other ancient text refer to the tree of life, does it mean the family tree? Or something else?
So thedope you feel that the term "god" is just a noun pointing to whatever we structure our lives around? What about completely secular people? What about people who subscribe to a religion but do not structure their lives around it? Noxious, if it's all such a big mystery, and no one knows anything, then why quote scripture as you have? Why care about subjective transformational experiences? I get the impression that both thedope and noxiousgas are, in some sense, "Pro God", and yet when asked for details, we discover that not only is "god" whatever you like it to be (not sure what the use of such a noun is?) but actually its worse than that, nobody knows anything, knowledge is impossible in fact, we will never know anything about any of this. Seems like an odd position to hold and then turn around and say "i believe in god". believe? How? In what?
http://youtu.be/nqvw3od_Imo I have looked at ancient mandalas along with other religious arts and symbols , including holographic cymatic patterns created by sound and resonance. Listening to scientists talk of an expanding universe etc..
"ancient aliens" is a horrible show. i actually kinda like it, but i recognize that none of it is any bit scientific, mostly wild speculation.
I'd be interested in hearing more about this, i prefer text over a youtube video ... algorithms are usually best represented as "text"
http://youtu.be/SdcuXw70qmU These things remain constants at the core of every religion and spiritual writings, idea or petroglyph ever discovered or concieved .
