i realize that, i don't worship the concept or anything, just letting my mind run free with random, plausible ideas... because to be honest, none of us KNOW
It's extremely unlikely god is what we think it is, but god's existence in general could be very plausible. You're talking about knowing, not believing. The weird thing about believing is accepting it as truth without having the evidence just because you believe it's the truth.
God is, at the very least, the word "God". Therefore, God exists. Technically, there is no room for debate.
something big, friendly, invisible, probably can but almost never does micro-manage, is under no obligation to resemble what any one pretends to know about it, and helps people out every once in a while when IT feels like it, keeps reminding me it exists. so i couldn't really pretend it didn't if i wanted to. how much its existence actually has to do with anything is an other matter entirely.
Before answering this question, you must first define God. Is it a euphemism for the universe or is it some religious deity? Perhaps it is a supernatural force? Whatever your definition of God may be, I don't think this is, or ever will be in a mortal lifetime, an answerable question. If there is a God, it would certainly not be one of the many religious figures obviously created by man in his own image. As humans, we certainly could never understand it or define it. It would be far beyond the capabilities of our minds. I think the fact that so many follow religions, whether it be Christianity, Islam, or any of the others, is a testament to the power of indoctrination. It shows us just how primitive and immature our society is. Religious belief structures do nothing but pollute the mind and cause one to reject new information. If new information is presented to one believes so strongly in something, he or she will have no choice but to reject the new information, or tear down their entire belief structure. And people, historically, tend to go the easy way of denying anything new to them. Religions are outdated, disturbing, and powerful. Sure, there are some great morals put forth by many religions but there has also been countless wars fought over it, people tortured and killed for believing the wrong thing. Who is right? Who is wrong? Who's to say? I think people should face their fears and look at the world in a more existential light. Live for the now but keep the future in mind. Educate yourself and moreover, don't buy into all this filth. It is only holding you back from reaching your potential. Instead of spending Sundays and reading out of a two thousand year old book you don't understand, start doing something that will truly benefit yourself - body and mind.
god exists. none of the religions can even imagine what it's like. it exists far beyond anything we can imagine, a consciousness which put in place the cycles of the universe. and one day, when it deems necessary, we will return to this consciousness to await re-assignment.
god exhists because life cant be what it is by chance. for everything to be this balanced, maybe leaning a little but generally balanced, there has to be some sort of intelligent design. but if their is a god he is a god of no religion, as the wise man before me has stated.
This debate right here, the zealots and the agnostics and the idiots making the 'lol imaginary friend argument', it's the proof that there is something you could call God or Magic or the Tao or whatever else out there.
