    Is it?

Some legends say that Lillith was the serpent, come to tempt Eve in repayment for Adam and God casting her out

Not quite... good exists just as much as donuts, light, and color. But like you said, absence of donut is donut hole (LOL), absence of light is darkness/shadow, and absence of color is white. We probably wouldn't decribe a donut as the absence of donut hole. We would describe it as a small round cake with a hole in the middle (where there is no cake).

I don't think that this question can be accurately answered in definite terms. I think it depends on the predisposition of the individual more than the actual strength of the forces. Certain temptations that one person has to put all their strength into resisting might not even cause another person to flinch.

G-d designed us to have free will, just like Him. G-d didn't want us to love and serve Him because there wasn't any other choice... He placed Satan on the earth for those who didn't want to choose Him. And He had to create a door for that choice to enter through. That door was the Forbidden Fruit.

Without our free will, we wouldn't be able to appreciate His Creation, or Him, or anything else for that matter. We wouldn't appreciate what is good in this world if we didn't know what was bad, painful or evil.

That leaves the opinion of whether we would really enjoy an existence absent of free will up to the individual, but if we weren't sentient to make our choices in the way that we are, I don't know if we could *really* enjoy anything at all. It's almost like having money... Those who have money discredit its value and necessity, and they won't know any better unless they are suddenly poverty stricken.

well depends on what kind of colour you are talking about...true colour, formed from light, if there was no colour, it is "black light"...white light is all the colours

but then you could mean "paint colour" which then, yes, white would be absense of colour but only because it refelcts all of the light colours back into our eyes...

Neither us or God has "free will". God must do what is right, and knowing what is right to do (being omniscient) is the perfect thing to keep God in line. Of course, this reflects upon us- if God is not free to do wrong, do you think God is free to create something that does wrong? Of course, what God creates might not understand that what it does is good, but God knows it is.
There is a choice. Be miserable or love God. If you love God, you don't necessarilly serve God any more than you would hand your friend a beer because you love 'em.
You don't need free will to be able to feel what is around you and react to it. You are an integral part of it, your will is not even slightly seperate from the will of God that surrounds all of us. Of course, God's will is so perfectly meshed with our will and desire, that it is hard to perceive sometimes, unless you see how God's will effects those around you (then you can perceive your own actions correctly).

I guess that's a matter of how you believe. Making us was a choice, not something that He *had* to do. Kind of like how some people decide that they want children... They don't have to, but they want to.

We, like G-d, also know the difference between right and wrong... But depending on what the circumstances are, we have a tendancy not to care. So we make a choice against doing what we should do. Like choosing to drink an entire bottle of vodka, even though it makes us intolerably nasty and leads to liver disease. ;)

I'm not saying people who love G-d won't be disobedient. I love my folks, and I was about as disobedient as they come. So you're right, love is only part of it. The other part is respect... If we respect His Authority, we will do as we're asked.

And, nobody's getting *my* beer if I don't love them! LOL!

I think that one does need free will to rationalize and make a choice. Just because I want to go and kill the person who mugged me doesn't mean that it's G-d's will. Rationalizations like that are what started the Crucades, and even the Holocaust.

I'll have to agree to disagree on this one. ;)

He placed Satan on the earth for those who didn't want to choose Him.- I was under the impression that Lucifer was cast down(to the earth) for wanting Gods power, you make it sound as if ignoring God is an alternative that God gave us..........
God's will is so perfectly meshed with our will and desire---WHAT?

I'm sorry, maybe I should separate the story like this...

The reason Lucifer was cast out of Heaven was because he coveted G-d's power. You had asked why the earth was chosen for him to dwell on... It's because we needed a choice of whom to serve, in order for us to have free will.

Ignoring G-d *is* an alternative, but Christians believe that it's a self-serving alternative. Regularly choosing to meet our desires only is selfish, and believing ourselves to be "okay just the way we are" without salvation shows conceit, or false pride.

Not only do these attitudes not recognize our imperfections, it doesn't allow us to forgive anyone for imperfections they can't help. Selfishness, conceit/false pride, and unforgiving attitudes are traits that Lucifer embodies, which is why a Christian believes that even in merely ignoring G-d, we align ourselves more closely with the Advisary.

LOL! I agree with you on this one, Sarai. If our will and G-d's were meshed perfectly, we would never struggle with doing the right thing. We and everyone else would always do as they should...

In other words, Washington D.C. wouldn't be overrun with corrupt morons responsible for running the U.S. government. Which it so definitely is. :D

Omniscience limits God to making the correct choice.
    I prefer tequilla.

Free will is an illusion that you have until you understand God well enough to know that your decisions are planned ahead of time. Some people have this stupid idea that not having free will means they are being squished....

So, when the Bible states that the Jews will return to Israel and retake Jerusalem in the Latter days, and at this time Israel will nolonger be a devided Kingdom, and this is what has happened, this is not full-filled prophecy.
And when the Bible states that Jerusalems East gate will have a porch built onto it, and the Porch Gate will be sealed, and all attemps to open it will fail. Which is also the case, that is not a full filled prophecy.

The Bible speaks the truth, your the one, that believes in B.S.

Years ago people use to laugh and say that the idea that the Jews would return to Israel and would retake Jerusalem and make it their captial, and raise up a very powerful army was pure fantasy. Mark Twain once while in the Middle East said in the 1800's. " Poor Jerusalem, nothing but wilderness, never to rise again."
Everybody knows, it's not fantasy any more. And once again, the Bible was right on.

It is to fantasy. Everything is a fantastic story that God created to unfold around us.

Anyway, in the spirit of promoting the truth, I leave you with this thought:

    Blorp!

Ezekiel 38:16,17 An thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land: it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes. Thus saith the Lord GOD: Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them?

God tells Ezekiel that Israels enemy will be to their utter most north. Draw a stright line from Jerusalem on a globe to their utter most north, and you will intersect Moscow. Gog and Magog are ancient tribes that setteled in the area that we know as Russia today. Take the time to read the full prophecies in Ezekiel chapters 37, 38, and 39, they are very detailed. These prophecies are not shakey or ambiguous at all. It is no accident that the Jews are back in Israel today. It is part of Gods bigger plan.

Campbell- I think furthurur's prob is he doesn't realise that Christianity is intended to preserve the mysteries of God instead of revealing them completely. The gnostic gospels might give away a little too much information....

Matthew, I'm sorry, but I have no idea what you are talking about. Could you give me a little more detail as to what you are trying to say.

People would still mis-interpret them. Unless you have had some glimpse, some epithany, you'll probably stumble over the "hidden" meanings. At one point "Jesus" will say something and he will contradict himself elsewhere. At least that is the way it will seem, unless one can take a different perspective and see it in a different context.

Those who are into Zen or Buddhism will be more readily able to discern deeper truths, like, "When you see one who was not born of a woman, bow down and worship." (Gospel of Thomas) and "Seek after death as the dead seek after life." (Secret Book of James).
