Then it went to 19/21 beer/liquor. Then 21/21, but you got the grandfather clause, meaning if you could buy it originally at 18 or 19 you still could. Anyways I remember my senior year in high school sneaking to bars during the day at 18, it was great.
Actualy i heard that you can be any age to drink it but to have it and to buy it you have to be a certain age. For example a 34 yrs old father and a 16yrs old son the father can buy beer but the young son can't the father says its okay if his 16 yrs old son has 1 beer so he lets him have one and only one beer. I don't know it could be an excuss by young drunks. In quebec its 18 and in other parts of canada it is.
when i was 19 i went to london and paris, i had a blast(didnt have any weed the whole time but the drinking age was 18) now that im 23 it matter not.
