What kind of love are you looking for? People don't associate trump with love so it's not likely you will get love if you are discussing him.

Are we talking about America in general, or just this web site? There isn't much compassion on this forum.

45 years I've been on this planet, it's usually the ones talking about love and happy joy joy feelings that end up being the nastiest people, especially ones that put down others for not having happy happy joy joy feelings

If they "fight" about politics it means they are more likely to give you their honest opinion up front

The cult of love and harmony is basically dead.

A pivotal moment was the murder of John Lennon, I don't see any Love Children anymore.

This is the time for conservatives to gloat about their victory and make liberals as miserable as humanly possible. This will last until the first time Trump fucks up, which will be blamed on other people. It's so predictable.

I had a very pleasant discussion with a Trump supporter yesterday. In person. I do admit to losing my patience alittle more easily online.

But in the end we ended up agreeing on more than we disagreed. we stuck to policy and didnt really mention the candidates at all.

I just wish people would actually listen and attempt to understand each other and each other's motives, but you see that outside of politics too - many people arent really interested in listening, they're just waiting on their turn to talk.

I heard a lady on NPR today, i didnt catch who she was, but she referred to all white, female Trump voters as racist. The host cut her off very quickly, told her that wasnt fair and when she persisted he told her they were out of time. It bothered me though, i dont doubt that there are a lot of racist Trump voters, but also a lot of kind people who have their own grievances and their own reasons for voting for him. She wasnt interested in learning more about people though, she already had them pigeon holed.

Oh i shouldnt have to point this out but on the other hand i probably do, it works the same for all political beliefs - just wanted to clarify before anyone acts like this proves any real point - , "yeah, see liberals are assholes and play the race card." Because as someone pretty far to the left, living in the in the south, i've gotten a lot of shit from conservatives over the years too. Assholes are everywhere and of all different political persuasions, y'all.

I can totally understand what you're talking about. It's like all this negativity is spinning us round and round. I think it's important to remember what makes America such a cool place to live; regardless of who its leadership is. I didn't vote for Trump, but I'm grateful to this country for my freedom and stuff.

I think it's going to get uncomfortable if they start rounding up immigrants. I'm a U.S. citizen, but I think it wreaks of fascism.

    That seems like veiled racism.

Why? He didn't say anything racist in the slightest, it is simply abiding by/enforcing current US immigration laws.
a pasty faced, ginger haired WASP from the UK is subject to the same laws.
Sounds as if you are the one seeing things through racist eyes. ;)

every friggin country has laws and restrictions concerning immigration, why the hell is it that you think America's laws are "veiled racism"?
wouldn't that "veiled racism" also apply to all other countries that restrict/control immigration?

It's so easy to hide behind that and say "Oh It isn't racist because it's the law". I think it seems likely that racism is a definite factor. I understand the law. I believe the law serves a purpose. But I don't appreciate the rhetoric that someone doesn't belong here!
