The movie came out like in '98, it was bad in my opinion and didn't do the book any justice. Just like how I thought when they made Intensity into a movie (made for TV movie) was a bad idea, nothing is really ever as good as the book in my opinion. I am a huge Dean Koontz fan, love his books. My favorites would have to be: Life Expectancy Odd Thomas series Night Chills Velocity Icebound The Husband By the Light of the Moon I haven't started "The Darkest Evening of the Year" I got that one for Christmas, anyone read it?
Hell yes. I'm reading Brother Odd right now. His book "False Memory" kept me awake for days, because i was stuck on it and it scared the shit out of me. I never read darkest evening though..
That's how I felt with Night Chills... I just really love his character development, you just really get attached to the characters so much, that's why I love the Odd Thomas series. I will have to check out False Memory...
Did anyone mention Dark Rivers of the Heart yet? I also really liked Intensity and of course Watchers. Everyone loves that one. I even got my husband to read that one. Dean Koontz really knows how to do a villian right. I love his bad guys.
Love Dean Koontz... need to catch back up on the Odd Series... he always gets me on the plot.. something i never saw coming.
I'm a huge fan of the Odd Thomas series. I don't read nearly as much as I should, but I wouldn't be able to keep myself from reading it if there was a new one. I think I've read them all up to this point. What's the most recent one? If it's new and I haven't heard about it I'm going to be very excited. I miss the world of Odd Thomas very much. I need to go back and reread those books. I also read Fear Nothing which I liked very much as well.
I've read about an even dozen of his books. I think my favorite book was Tick-Tock(think that's what it was called). I don't like his recent stuff. The Frankenstein books and the Odd Thomas series were a little ponderous. His old stuff, back when he wasn't trying to be a great writer, rivaled some of Stephen King's. I think lately, he's just been trying too hard to be a classic literary writer. I'm not blaming him, just think he had a better chance of succeeding at that without trying so hard. -BlkBks
Yes but only The Good Guy lol... in fact i keep the book right next to the computer so I have something to read while I wait...
