Ok, I am sure most of you here wouldn't encourage other guys to post nude pics right? But there is a part of the population that likes that. Likewise, you may not be into the really thin model type women, while others really love that look.

To each their own, yes. I am attracted to the really thin type myself, and many people do not understand it. However they tell me they don't understand it. They don't pretend to find those people attractive as well.

What I am saying is this: Every time I see somebody post a picture, everybody likes it. Appearantly nobody on hipfora finds anybody else to be ugly. This I find to be a complete crock of shit. We've already had members admit to lying to somebody to spare their feelings. Also had members admit they'd rather be lied to than have their feelings hurt, which means they'd pass along the same bullshit courtesy. I have found women attractive when others have not. I have found women unattractive when my friends have thought otherwise.

Here, that doesn't seem to be the case. Many, if not most, members here will go out of their way to lie to somebody about how attractive they are for the sake of being "kind". It's not kind, it's fake.

 

But is it also possible that people that find them unattractive simply do not reply?

I know that there are generally the same group of people that post there, but so what? Why does it bother people so much? Can't they avoid such threads if they don't want to see that stuff?

Honestly, I will comment on a pic if I see something redeeming about it. If I don't, then I don't comment. I think if one guy posted a negative comment in the middle of a praise fest, you could imagine how that would go over.

I love you for saying that. Seriously.

If I, for instance, was that one guy. All of those people who were willing to bullshit and kiss ass, who believe that, "If you have nothing nice to say, then don't say anything", would throw that shit out the window and jump on me like a pack of wolves.

People here are willing to tell other people regularly that their personality or attitude is ugly, but not their face.

That's why it bothers me. Because those people are being fake, and if I went through with your hypothetical, it'd come out in an instant.

 

That's a very valid point. About ragging people on their personality.

I typically will not comment if I don't have something nice to say, but I am just like that. I tend to look for the positives in people. I don't feel like I am being phoney, but who knows? I just tend to get along better with people when I don't take shots at them. I don't tell people they are attractive if I don't think they are, but I will see something good in everyone, and I will focus on that. They feel good, and people get along.

It's easy to tear anyone down, but it feels much better to hear something positive. Unfortunately pointing out bad things to people tend to spread around to the whole forum much faster than positive comments.

 

Saying nothing when you have nothing kind to say isn't being phoney, and it is, in its own way, admirable. Saying something nice that you don't mean, because it's the courteous thing to do, deserves a punch in the testicles/ovaries.





Edit: I'd like to add that it is not easy to tear down just anyone. If it were more people would do it. Not just a handful of us. I will admit it is easy to dear down those we do not like, but to do it to people you don't mind or are indifferent about is another story.

Oh and I meant if there is a desire to tear someone down it is very easy to do. Everyone has flaws.

 

People can only be broken if they allow themselves to be. Any one of the people here can berate my looks all they want and when I look in the mirror each morning I'm still going to smile and say, "Why the fuck did I get out of bed this morning"

what is ugly? gratuitous conventionality is ugly. the aggressiveness of gratuitous conventionality is ugly.

wherever else physical appearance my count, the only place it is of any real pertinence is in bed, and even then it's still in the eye of the beholder.

for one person to judge how anyother might perceive their own appearance is meaningless. you can say, "many people have said they find me attractive" or "many people have said they don't find me attractive" but that is all that is meaningful about appearance.

the lack of our own soft silkey fur with colorful markings all over our bodies, furry tails, pointy ears and creature like faces makes the human form less then totaly attractive to some of us. since i also in mundane life lack these features i thereby concider myself a fully qualified member of this 'physical ugliness club'.

it is not however a kindness to limp before the lame, so i cannot in clear conscous call myself outstandingly either repulsive nor attractive, i must, therefor, if anything, classify my appearance as "mostly harmless".
