The last place I lived was across the street from a local river, and when it froze I'd go for barefoot walks on it. Lots of people would skate and some of the kids played hockey, but I never saw anyone else barefoot. I miss that place.
I enjoy the challenge of walking barefoot in cold temperatures. Last year I was able to walk a mile or more with temperatures in the mid 30’s. I once walked 15 minutes in the snow. That was painful especially the last 5 minutes.
The more you walk barefoot in the cold and snow you will last longer but be careful that you don’t get frostbite. It took me two years before I could walk barefoot in every cold weather and in the snow now I can walk 12 miles in every cold weather and in the snow that goes past my ankles. You will get there I know you can do it barefoot Larry.
I know how you feel I’m the only one that goes barefoot where I live and I do get looks because I’m barefoot and it’s cold every cold.
I've been going down to the mailboxes, out to my truck and hanging out on my balcony. The ground isn't that cold yet and warms during the days that are sunny. Driving barefoot is no issue.
