I watched The Big Lebowksi for the first time on three hits of acid. That shit blew my fucking mind, man.

Try watching "The man who stared at goats" or "Inception" on acid.

Ehhh no doubt he remained intelligent but he's pretty loopy on some of his later interviews that I've seen.

No, the acid itself would never fry your mind or mess you up long term, but if you had underlying psychological problems then the psychedelic experience can bring that out to the surface faster.

Yeah. Syd Barrett should have stayed away from LSD.

Everything happens one way, despite the possibilities. Syd Barret thank you for taking acid...probably should have laid off the Xanax around the end of his time in Floyd though.

I got that on mushrooms, but it was kind of a vague sense. I thought that we may have all been goods hooked up to machines that subject us to the lives of limitation we have, like just because they're board. I could see how this could make someone feel nuts. I don't really believe that exactly, but I think were a single consciousness entangled in itself now. I'm pretty convinced of that.

I know, right? Some people just don't know what they are talking about.

I have a theory on this.

After reading Timothy's biography "FLASHBACKS" he makes it indirectly evident that the retention of his mind and relative sanity and intelligence was largely attributed to the fact that he was a psychologist.

He described, at least one mention of it that I can remember, of himself taking LSD, or perhaps synthetic psilocybin and feeling slighty anxious. He mentions that he easily told himself that it was just the drug's effects and that he would be fine.

He clearly demonstrates an understanding of human reluctance to let go of reality and the anxiousness that comes with the loss of self and ego. I believe that his understanding of the mind and human nature with regards to self was an immensly useful tool in him being able to use LSD to the extent that he did and still retain a decent mind set.

this. i've noticed that people who have tripped acid a lot are always a little out there, but I think learning about certain concepts that most people don't learn about can also make you a little out there...it has more to do with mind expansion than frying one's brain.

the concept of the matrix drives me crazy when i'm sober lol. i havent been able to stop thinking about it lately.

this, also. schitzophrenia, for example, can be triggered by excessive drug or alcohol use. The drug acts not as a cause but a catalyst.

As some have pointed out, those who really "fried" their brains were using drugs other than LSD or in combination. One drug that did far more harm than good was STP, which came out after LSD and gave you a 72 hr. trip from which many never returned. Likewise drugs like PCP can really blow your mind good. Datura messes you up pretty bad too.

I even noticed Salvia Divinorum has the potential to fuck you over if you do it enough. I tried it a few times in succession and it took more than a week for my head to get back to normal.

And yes, certain drugs act as catalysts, bringing to the forefront underlying psychological problems, even cannabis.

I would loooooove DOM... It's all about being prepared. The war on drugs is most of the harm. (Of course if someone tells you it's LSD and you trip for days, it would fuck you up)
