makeup is probibly as old as fire. for eons we have beeen altering our appearance to appear more beautiful to the Great Mother, and would get all dressed up and dance all night to be sure She heard us. this has been warped into this cheuvonistic society to make women feel inferior by having to make herself "beautiful" for her man and society by actually disguising her true natural beauty.
however, if you do like to wear make-up, there are plenty of vegitable based organic varieties that are actually healthy for your skin.

i used to wear makeup all the time. but these past couple of years i only wear it when i look ill or overly tired. most people compliment me more on my makeup-less face now than ever before. i guess i'm aging well. or i'm getting really bad at putting on makeup.

I used to be one of those people that would wear makeup everyday. I would put it on as soon as I woke up, just in case somebody happened to stop by the house. I felt like I looked so much better with it. I had my kids when I was almost 27 years old, and I've only worn makeup a few times since then. It just doesn't seem as important to me anymore, and my skin feels much better without it.

The last time I wore makeup...let's see... I think 10 years ago I bought some foundation to hide a massive hickey, and then didn't wear it anyway.

    Makeup feels gross.

I wear lip chap and translucent powder to school and at work at most and I occassionally wear makeup to go to a movie, a bar, a party or something.

I would say that I wear lip chap everyday, powder every 4 days, and the whole makeup... maybe 5 times a month.

I think I look a whole lot better with makeup on, but appearing pretty just isn't a priority right now. I'm a university student who has gone to school 3 times this year in pyjamas. I like makeup, I just don't need it everyday.

I wear makeup every day that I'm at school because if i don't I look like hell, baggy eyes and no color in my cheeks and stuff. People would start asking me if i'm sick!! ....Lol.... but when I'm at home I go without because who cares.:)

    ~Peace:)

I used to wear it every day, I work in a corporate setting and now I don't bother with it on a daily basis. IMO work doesn't deserve make up. I show up to do a task and do it well, face paint has no bearing on my skill. The guys in the office don't wear make up why should I. I save it for a special occasions.

you can always tell when i'm feeling a little intimidated by a situation because i'll go out in full warpaint. like when i have to go out alone somewhere i've never been and want to be alittle on the "untouchable" side.

    Rock on!
And this is to everybody, it is our concern to redefine the status quo that has been handed to us awash in blood tide. Centureis of corruption and grey. Animal maiming or healing tranquil plants....choose Now . Some cannot wait. The choice is all around you and will decide who you are and how you appear to others, quite possibly one of the most important decisions of a lifetime.
See, the redefinition of beauty, or more appropiatley the revertion back to the soil, is happening in our very times!! It has been happening at the end of this age of Reason shining rays from the Age of Aquarius breaking through the cloud cover, and then you look again and it's suddenly clear. This is what I am speaking of. Clarity. Beauty. Coming home. WHen the sun hits the scene and your pure natural face and in this way you bow before the magesty of mother nature, and she bows before you. Like comfrey.
The beautiful thing about going down the Nature trail, is you start to find these AMAZING beyond belief properties in your humble backyard that bring out the Inner Beauty and makes it shine!! Your skin glows radiantly and your eyes shine in a mystic aura of knowing. Your hair gleamin and glitterin flows fluidly naturally. You have no neeed anymore for mascara and face powder to blush because your body is in a constant state of gratitude and vivation and This my friends, is the true deffiniton of beauty. Now go on now, Be bringing on some of that delicious flava!

Make-up actually makes my face look worse however i do it...im probably just really bad with it, it feels unnatural to me. The most i ever do is a little mascara and lipgloss for a special occasion, but never when im with my boyfriend. Lipgloss gets kissed off and i cant afford kissproof crap:confused:

I wear lipstick a couple times a week or when my lips are chapped to help hold lipglosses on better. But that's it. If I'm going out somewhere I'll consider painting my fingernails, but that's it. Much to my mom & sister's chagrin I don't even OWN any other makeup!
    love,

I wear lip balm in the winter and that's it. Every so often a friend of mine tries to get me into the whole make up thing. She buys me some what I would assume are "basics" attempts to show me why and how to put it on and then I invariably loose it all some where or another and she gives up. I think it's all rather garish personally.

I wear makeup most days. No foundation, and I'm not big on lipstick, but I love eye makeup.

i wear concealor because i hate how i look pretty much. but not a lot and not everywhere.

my best friend did 3 years of makeup school so im a pro at doing my own makeup but i only go all out if im going out clubbin or for a special occasion or something.

I just dont get girls who wear full heavy makeup in the day! especially at uni, it's nuts.

There is one cosmetic which fulfills 90 percent of a woman's beauty requirements...Women can save money by discarding many of their cosmetics, and putting their faith in the most effective skin oil in the world-good old fashioned cold cream. This all purpose oil serves every need for cleansing, protection, and beautification. It keeps the skin young by making it smooth, clear, and soft. It also releives chapping irritation, itching, and sunburn. Here is the standard recipe...

    1 oz. spermaceti
1 oz. beeswax (white if prefered)
5 ozs. pressed oil of walnut/almond
20 grms. sodium borate or boraxin
    1.5 ozs. strong rose water

Pare thespermaceti and beeswax into fine shavings, and melt them together over moderate heat. Add the walnut or almond oil. Dissolve the sodium borate or boraxin. Add the rose water. Stir rapidly, or beat with spoon or egg beater, until the mixture becomes soft and creamy.

(dr. silvers extraordinary remedies and prescriptions for health and longevity)

    comments please!!
i think this would be good for men too ;)
