do you think we should have a swap box

im pretty sure they are gonna think that the box is on fire but the amount of smoke that will be flowing out from every crack and air hole

I was in the last swap box, and like, I was put as the last person on the list - and then Lucky Spiral went into another heroin binge and left the Forums only to sqwack at us who were continuing with the Swap Box that she started...

And it's been about a year and a half - and so many people have flaked out and not sent the box out.

Sooo. I would LOVE to participate if I'm not the last person this time. I'm an excellent pen pal and have sent people mail on HF before. I'd love the chance.

i have one question, the thing that we put in the box, is that just for the next person to take? or does everything stay in the box for everyone to enjoiy?

 

i'm pretty sure, correct me if i'm wrong, everyone put's a few things in the box and a list of what they put, and the next person takes what they want out, writes down what they took, and then puts things back in

I appreciate it. And I'm thankful that you'll be organizing it.

What we did in the past, is we sent the organizer our addresses in a PM, and based on the mailing addresses Trish drew up a list of the order the mail was going.

Then she gave people a bit of time to decide if it was okay that the person ahead of them know their mailing address to send the box - she made some minor adjustments and the list was finalized.

I'd suggest that at that stage you may want to keep a list in mind with respect to distance. We had the box go from Australia, to Europe to the USA, I think and it was costly to a few. I would suggest drawing up a list that makes more sense for less travel miles (some of us are hippies, beatnicks and gurus after all) so that the box can get there efficiently.

i think most of us are US and canada so we shouldn't be too bad, yeah i was going to do that... i think i'll probably post a thread on asking who wants to do it and make up the rules and all of that jazz, i just don't want to do it tired or high or anything so it is actually successful

what should i do if someone that isn't a regular asks to be on it? let them down easy? i don't want anyone i haven't actually got to known a small bit to be in there to ruin it for everyone! we're a bunch of silly kids with little money that wanna send stuff to each other

 

Make a post limit or something. No one under 1000 for sure.
