isn't it evident? I'm pretty sure that would qualify as manslaughter of a minor.

Neglecting is knowing your child has a disease/medical condition that needs medical attention, and not doing anything rational about it. They were not looking at their kid's benefit and they should be locked up.

those symptoms could be for anything else. could have been a simple stomach bug

to completely say yes or no on this, when the investigation isn't even complete...and we aren't even part of this...is something i find a bit ridiculous

Geez. Don't take things so seriously.

(and as i said that "no evidence of neglect" comment was surely about the other children)

    no.

how can you say we have freedom of religion in this country if you get prosecuted for practicing it?

i dont care that the child died, thats between them and there god.its not like they put her on a alter and sacrificed her to there god, although it came to the same end.im sure it wasnt there intent to cause her death.

Any sane person would take their child to the doctor if any symptoms proceeded for that long. It's the only logical thing to do. There is no arguing with that. There is nothing to investigate, the people are idiotic religious freaks who should be imprisoned.

"She had probably been ill for about a month, suffering symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, excessive thirst, loss of appetite and weakness"

it is sad and misguided....but the parents are within their rights to refuse medical treatment for their daughter...

    No.

It looks like their "god" is doing a pretty good job punishing them with the death of their child.

in my opinion when a child is under the roof of there parents they are subject to the parents wishes not there own.

face it these folks are bible thumpers, the bible says train up a child in the way they should go and they will not stray from it when they are old,,or somethin like that..

anyway, what i mean is they were just practicing there religion in that aspect as well so once again, its there right, whether we agree with it or not..

funny, the amish dont believe in blood transfusions, nor do the jehovas. they have kids die from refusing them treatment,it never makes the news,i wonder why?

    more like punishing the child.

If you are allowed to let your child die of curable disease for no sane reason, then i believe you should be allowed to fuck your children too

And along those lines I guess if a person is practicing their religion and prays about their child and their god tells them they must murder their child, that should be allowed as well, yes?

The child is dead, the parents have to live with it for the rest of their lives. Ever had a child die? I have. It haunts you to the core of your soul.
