    organs work independently, so it's very possible that they indeed do think for themselves.

    maybe because the brain controls the host body and tells the non-thinking parts what to do... if its host and the parts around it are not working, then how could they survive anyway?

    What about when a person dies and there hair/nails contiue to grow... what is controling that..clearly not the brain.
