I stand by what I said above, only now it's even looking better for Obama, with the killing of bin Laden. I would say Obama's chance of winning is about 80% now.

As long as he doesn't eat a baby on camera he'll defeat any of the current republican candidates.

Romney and Gingrich? They had better hope they have a couple new cards up their sleeve.

I hope they go crazy and put Trump in.

Putting Trump in. My question is: is this guy conservative?

What has Obama done so far?
He passed a health care bill that 26 states are fighting in court. What else has he done?

He will probably be reelected by the majority who has no clue about what this world is all about.

I am of the opinion that the Government decides who will win long before the elections even occur - all part of a Grand Master Plan that they orchestrate. It's hard to say - but I think we citizens really need someone like Ron Paul to win. Jesse Ventura said that if Ron Paul does run, that he (Jesse) will run as his partner. We can only hope desperately that these two would become the leaders of our country, but I don't think the evil "Powers That Be" will allow that to come to fruition. Because if Ron Paul & Jesse Ventura were our President & Vice-President, it would ruin the evil plans that the Powers That Be set in motion years ago. I have just recently become aware of that, and if it is true, it'll be a really scary scenario for us citizens that aren't members of the extremely wealthy "elite" members of the society. The elite actually do not categorize themselves with the rest of us; they place themselves way above us (yikes!).

It's always been a class war. It continues and the lower and middle classes are losing badly while the disparities between the rich and the middle and the poor classes are growing ever larger. Some day--don't know what it will take--this will not stand.

So, Michelle Bachmann has won the straw poll in Iowa. I know it doesn't mean much, but if she's the nominee, Obama's chances of winning are 99%.

Here's what my fav political writer, Matt Taibbi, said about her (and I agree)

The reason the lower and middle classes are losing is because they are the classes engaged in the war between each other. The ones who are truly rich can afford the war, and are the ones who profit most between battles.

2012 gives us a chance for the poor and middle class to come together and retake the Republican party by selecting a candidate who could appeal to both classes with total disregard to the Republican party leaders. There are only a few such candidates, so the primaries will tell us if we are to expect a change for the good or not.

Individual--the republican party should never have been supported by the lower and middle classes. And they should not now be. The class war is from the rich "upper" class against the working class,as has been shown from this mess of a country we now have. The Democrats have lost their spines and now are just a shadow of what they've been traditionally known for, which has been standing up to the conservative forces that have no respect at all for the common folk. In my opinion, love of this country and what happens to it and it's citizens has all but disappeared from the conservative faction ,in lieu of the love of money, power and re-election at all costs. Obama may be re-elected, but he's proven to be WEAK in the area of sticking to progressive ideas when confronted by intractable right-wingers.

Actually, neither party should have ever been supported by the lower and middle classes. The "so called" class warfare the Democrat party uses to buy votes has no effect at all on those who make up the top 1%, and very little on those who comprise the top 10% of wealth accumulation, and as a result it matters little to them which party is in control.
Love of money, power and re-election is common to both parties, and the solution to our problems is not to spend more money on the poor or raise taxes on the rich, but instead reduce Federal government spending, eliminating deficit spending, and reducing the debt. That will require all those capable of working to do their fair share and begin to pay taxes rather than consume the taxes of others, and for government to begin to maintain a strong dollar, which allowing our debt to rapidly increase is made undesirable, and creates a situation where the diminishing value of the dollar makes debt interest payments more palatable to the government, in turn has negative effects on both the poor and the middle classes. Rising prices reduce the life style of both the poor and middle classes, creating demands for higher wages by those working and greater entitlements for those who are not, which results in requiring government to spend more, which can only occur by increasing taxes and/or borrowing more. Everything government provides is done so at a cost, and we've already exceeded what even those who are the wealthiest can afford. The Federal government has created far too many spending programs, which have rapidly grown beyond the sustainable means to continue funding. Look at the numbers provided by government agency web sites, and any rationally economic thinking person can see the facts for what they are, if they put aside both liberal and conservative biases.

obama has done a lot, to disappoint his core constituency, of which, i am one.
i still would not trust any republican or libertarian, to not be a bigger embarrassment to america, then any democrat or green.

unless a green stands a real chance of winning, or the democrats nominate someone else, i will almost certainly vote again for obama.

if i get a chance to vote in the democratic primary however, i may very likely, find someone else to vote for, for the nomination.

the problem is, can anyone, no matter who elects them, for whatever they claim, be ABLE once in office, to do things the way, i feel they need to be done?

and of course also, those decisions are made mostly by congress, over whom a president can do nothing other then cheer lead, and vote yea or neah.

(also if he isn't, what will likely fallow, is precisely what all those dire predications about 2012, are REALLY all about)

As if things aren't bad enough already, we have those who want to put those "shovel ready jobs" to work and dig the hole we're in deeper and faster.

Let's raise taxes on the middle and poor classes and give more money to the rich. Let's eliminate social security. I'm sure the banker-wall street bunch will take good care of our retirement money. Let's plan on eternal war. Money well spent. Eliminate any semblance of any safety nets. We don't need any safety nets-after all-everyone is equally capable of getting and keeping good jobs. That ought to settle the right -wing down some. Or has part of that happened already?

Obviously everyone is not equal in many ways, and when you fail you should try something else until you find what you can do successfully.
