Psychedelicpiper! I was wondering when someone was going to remember
that this election year, we actually DO have a sensible choice! Here, here!
RON PAUL 2012! I just now discovered this thread, and had read through all
the posts before yours, and nobody had mentioned him until you did; thought
I was gonna have to do it 'till I saw your post - thanks!

Ron Paul's ace in the hole will be when he withdraws from the Republican party and runs Independent at the last minute. So you see, folks - all you folks who keep going on about there only being a choice between two parties - y'all overlooked the only man who we all need to vote for!

I'll put it to you this way, people ...... if all of us don't get off our butts and
go out there and actually vote for Ron Paul ..... we are through - and I'm not kidding. It should be abundantly clear to everyone by now; particularly since the passing of that Senate Bill S1867 ...... that if we do not see to it that we make sure somehow that Ron Paul takes over the helm of our country, that life as we have known it shall undergo a drastic change; and it ain't gonna be anything nice. There are already signs of it everywhere - subtle changes are being initiated all around us. The media, in particular,
is riddled with false information designed to lead us all astray.

Ron Paul was one of only two or three Senators to vote AGAINST S1867. He has a demonstrated thirty-year history of keeping his word - any of you that doubt what I am saying - pull his website up and see for yourself.

Sure, I completely agree with all of those who say the elections are rigged - they are. But, we cannot just take this laying down and be led to the slaughter like silent, sleeping sheep. We know!! Like "The Imaginary Being" said: "Positive change is a group effort."

"NotSuchAnEvilBunny" is spot on with the statement:
" ... don't wait for someone else to step up and fix things for us, we all must
say "enough, we will no long tolerate this behavior". We all must work for
change. They can't kill all of us, we have them outnumbered. "

In fact, everything that 'NotSuchAnEvilBunny' said was extremely insightful
and accurate; with the exception of the question, "how is the Bill of Rights
relevant?" The Bill of Rights has been trampled on, to be sure, Bunny -
but to say that it is "irrelevant" means that you have come to have a level
of acceptance of it's eradication - and we can't have that - you know that.
We must make it relevant again; we cannot let them just do away with it.

I have a vision where I am on a cliff, and I can see the two documents -
    the "Bill of Rights" and the "Constitution"; over there on the edge of the cliff;
waving in the breeze - they each have a piece of string attached to the
upper left hand corner. The string is caught on a small bush, and both
documents are perilously close to falling over the edge; and we must run
and pull them back. We haven't much time ... but if we all do not figure out
what to do to accomplish this, we are through - I can't stress it enough.

Bunny - you seem like an intelligent and educated individual - and your
head and heart's in the right place - what do you suggest? What the hell can we
all do to make sure Ron Paul wins?

Pressed Rat - you stated that you believe that "voting is a joke." I venture to
say that all of those who lost their lives in the Revolutionary War would beg
to disagree with that opinion; and as a matter of fact, it was very friggin' far
from being a laughing matter to them or their descendants. Thomas Jefferson
and his boys warned us ........ they made it quite clear that 200 years down
the road, the government would become corrupt by then; and that to protect
the liberties that they fought so diligently to acquire, we citizens would have
to put the government of the day in check. Well, my friend - that time is here.
You can say that voting is rigged by the corruption that rules it - but to say
that the meaningful right to vote is "a joke" is disrespectful, to say the very
least, to our Founding Fathers; because of the sacrifices that were made to
accomplish that right. You said it all, Pressed Rat; when you said "I don't
care." It's not defeatism or realism that you possess: it's apathy. Please - go
check out Ron Paul's website - he is a man of integrity and purpose; and he has
a thirty-year record of keeping his word. He will restore constitutional law, etc.
Read just two of the quotes from him I wrote below.

In closing, folks - let us not lose hope - we have to band together and pool our
ideas to figure out how to make sure that Ron Paul wins. Go check him out if you are
not familiar with who and what he is - make sure for yourself that you understand that he is worth standing behind - and then let's get proactive here and come up with an
idea like our Founding Fathers did to save our asses. The time is here; we cannot
    dawdle any longer.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"The purpose of the Government is to protect the personal liberty of it's citizens - not to run their personal lives, not to run the economy, and not to think that we can tell the world how they ought to live." ....... Ron Paul

"I am convinced the best formula for preserving the American way of life and giving us all peace, is Freedom, Limited Government, & Minding our own business overseas."
    ....... Ron Paul

I've always felt that we should have the option to vote against either douchebag. It's a democracy afterall, wouldn't it make sense to vote on finding someone else the people feel would lead the country better than either Douche A or B? Clearly that'll never happen, unfortunately. Idk, just seems to me that that's more democratic than our current "system". Or maybe i don't know what i'm talking about.

As the two major political parties have wrested control of government from the hands of the people, all that is left for voters is a dilemma which becomes more difficult to solve over time.

Of course you still can. It's not like your vote would have altered things.

They didn't have to wrestle it from our hands, we are use to others making the big descisions for us by believing anyone with power/money must also be in control and have all the answers. (or we see they have something we want and/or feel we need so we go along with it in hopes that they will drop a crumb or even better give us a piece of their pie). Then we get pissed off cause it didn't go our way well it didn't from the beginning we only went along with it to gain something not because we really believed in it.To be frank we can blame government for only so much, everytime we sign up to fight against freedom for others while knowing the hidden truth and hypocracy that exist in our own country we give them more control and by being obsessed with our own gains and losses we loose sight of whats really right and wrong.
The revolution is prime example of how blinded we really are, anyone who faught in that war created a government that maintanes control by bending the laws and lieing. I mean the constitution sounds like a great idea its pointless to defend it though when in the name of fighting for freedom we stole this land and slaughtered the people who originally called it home then inslaved another species of people to cultivate it.
Now that we have it we justify imprisoning a new species of people who are searching for refuge from tyrany as much as the 1st colonist were by saying they jeopordize national security and steel our jobs. Then hop on our ships and go across the ocean to slaughter and force ideas on the people over there because they have diferent beliefs than us and sit on a huge natural source of energy. All in the name of freedom.. WEll; Ya know what
WAR CAN NOT ACCOMPLISH FREEDOM, IT CAN NOT RESOLVE AN ISSUE.
Even more important to note, freedom can be abused and taken to the extreme to, just because we define our freedom one way doesn't mean its the same way others will. Just because we have the right to speak doesn't mean we shouldn't know when to shut up, just because we are intitled to own land doesn't mean we should have all of it, just because most dont care doesn't mean we all should stop...ETC you get my point. I hope... Being right doesn't make everything else wrong, and being defferent isn't a desease to be cured or enjustic to be rectified damn sure not by the means of war..
Further more the 60's movement did bring to light alot, but you can't expect to be taken seriously when your runnin around like wild children trippin(Where did our dignity go and why are we growing more immature as we get more book smart, there is a time and place for everything and again just because you can doesn't mean you should), as much as they accomplished against government control they also set us back by giving them amunition to use against the ideology that was being created. There are people who want the truth but they dont want to hear it form a slurred tongue anymore than they do a silver tongue. A piece of blame sits on everyones door step....:daisy: If we know whats controling us we can defeat it, if you think your being controled whether by pills that chemically alter your mind or market munipulation and war then start by educating those around you, stop taking the pills they give you, stop buying the gas or china products what ever, stop going to church when the beliefs taught in them are used to fuel anger and create war, and MORE IMPORTANTLY STOP YOURSELF RIGHT NOW FROM SAY but, THEY KNOW WE NEED THESE THINGS THATS HOW THEY GET US AND START MAKING SACRIFICES.

We can't give up and we have to stop thinking that solutions to problems are developed overnight.
Forums like this one are one way of keeping it alive, especialy when you feel you can't be heard.
But, we have to be open minded and honest with ourselves and others when discussing matters that have such a profound impact on us.
Its time to be serious so we can be taken seriously by standing firm in what we believe and there is no room for giving up when in the purcuit of validity and equality in survival.

Rights are lost when you fail to exercise them. Governments only responsibility is to protect your rights, not to provide them.

well considering you will be of legal age to vote it doesn't really matter. Knowing that you'll get the chase should be important.

this is dumb how does the majority say no? i would think most of us hip people would understand that your vote does not matter.... republican or democrat they both will push the same laws that the powers that be want passed... they are the two sides of the pyramid to keep us controlled.
