Again, I mean it more as believing them as far as who they say they are - not whether or not we take the things they say to heart and so forth. Do you really believe that all the girls you flirt with are really girls and do you believe all the guys you are chummy with are really the guys you think they are? etc etc. . .
Oh, on this forum at least, I assume they are who they say they are. Especially if it's a regular member. It's inconsequential either way, unless I'm meeting the person at some point, which hasn't happened so far.
Nah. People just construct personalities out of thin air on here. People have time to think through every reply and every statement thoroughly before they post and decide what image to project. They decide to be who they wish they could be in real life. None of you are really "real" to me. You're all real people, no doubt, but I think 80% of you aren't who you act like you are on here.
Yeah, people do construct their online personalities, true. OR, they come here to exercise a part of themselves they are not used to expose in non-mediated interpersonal contact.
Honestly, I believe people more than i should. at least,If you ask my hubby anyway. I have learned more and more -through meet ups with internet friends-that people are not what they are. ..I am rather optimistic about it though,i figure if i am on here being myself and honest- there must be SOME people who are as well.... ....or maybe i am just crazy
heh, i learnt the hard way that people are not always who they say they are online. guys will almost do/say anything they think you wana hear to get pictures out of you. I do believe very very few people are really who they are online, though.
An age old goal I've accomplished plenty of times. Pisses people off more than impresses them and earns you some stern warnings if you don't do it with quality posts. Hard to achieve under the guidelines, but it is possible.
ms oh i know is who i know her as i tend to be really real and i think most ppl are really real with me not all ofcourse but theres alot i trust & alot i just knoiw only been surprised twicve when some1 no wait 3 times by a fake nit to say i havent caught alotta fakes being fakes they are just odvios to me ..and some ppl (like ms oh) u just know
i usually base my guess on their posts. i start out by not trusting anybody, and then after reading a couple posts i usually have a more well thought out theory as to whether or not they are actually real (i don't know how often i'm right, but i usually do at least form a theory pretty quick). really though it doesn't matter too much; i'll usually just play along if it's fun, even if i'm entirely convinced that they are fake. i am less likely to have a serious discussion with an alias, but i'll even do that if it interests me
I'm pretty trusting in that way, I assume the persona presented online is the way people are in real life. at least to an extent; there are people who make me hope they've invented an internet character because how could anyone be so stupid or whatever fits.
