do you take baths with your babies?

i didnt even realise until i read this post that people thought it was weird to bathe with their children. i just always assumed everyone did it coz me and my sister always used to get in the bath with my mum. i think the only reason we stopped in the end was when the bath just wasn't big enough to hold us all.

i guess its just what you're used to. if you never got in the bath with your parents then thats probably weird to you. i never had baths on my own so that idea is weird to me.

even when we were too big to actually get in the bath we would still always go in the bathroom when other people were in the bath. nakedness was never an issue. mind you, we had six people sharing 1 bathroom. when 4 teenage girlswere all trying to get ready at once locking the door just wasnt an option!!

my mum has a lovely story she likes to tell, about when she was pregnant with my sister, whenever we had a bath i used to rub shampoo all over her tummy and say i was washing the babies hair. (i was only 2!)

oh I know so did I, my mom bathed with me for a long time, she was a nudest so I've always seen my mom naked, I thought it was normal, but my husbands parents are looking at me like I'm nuts we live with them for the moment, cuz our lease was up and we still haven't found a house we want to buy so anyways... I have to hear it everytime I give him a bath, she says everytime, "why don't you just wash him in the sink"? It's annoying.... thank you everyone for your comments you've made me feel much more confident about what I'm doing.

i take showers and baths with my 3 year old. He also takes them with his daddy and we have taken sowers all 3 of us too. Its no big deal because we have nothing to hide. The body is nothing to be ashamed of...and at that age they don't even think twice about things. A little older then they start wating to be brave and do things alone on their own etc.

 

He's too big now... but I used to.

 

yes, i bathe with my 6 month old, skylie, everynight. its part of our bedtime routine, and my husband works nights so its a nice way to pass the time when he leaves for work. its great bonding time for us, and she has a blast. when she can sit up steady on her own, i might use the sink sometimes but playing with her in the tub is fun.

 

Yes I do~ And if I didn't I would never get a bath in the first place! lol
