Do you remember being a newbie?

I do. I can remember at times it was not always the easiest to come onto an established board and have a level of comfort.

Not wanting to offend but not sure what is offensive to someone who you do not know. People taking offense where none was intended.

I joined here before the boards switched over and I have not regretted joining but I sure do wish at times that there was a little more time given to some before they are jumped on. We have lost a lot of good posters because of that.

Just a random thought.

 

I come onto any board the exact same way. I be myself and to hell with anyone who doesn't like it. I've got just as much if not more pointless words to type down and post than anybody else.

There are members here I don't care for, mainly because they just think they're too good and like, it's HipForums, you're not too good and you aren't even good. You're a username. And a pretty fucking stupid one at that, just saying.

So it's never bothered me that I'm irritating. The crowd here is a lot older than the boards I'd normally post on. Older but not any more mature or anything and just as moronic as me to tell the truth. Actually some of the younger people here put you old folks to shame.

This has been my journey on HipForums. I've made more friends than enemies.

I'm just happy with my little solid fan base =]
And I've more threads to post in any case

I've been on here a long time so don't remember being a noob. Though I sometimes feel like I get the treatment of a noob. I feel like I'm kind of hated on here for whatever reason. And I've actually come to a point where I really don't care.

I've also noticed everyone is a little harsh on someone who has just joined but I think for good reason. You really have to have a strong back bone to be here. Everyone is so sarcastic and to really appreciate the sense of humor around here, you have to get it, or you won't be sticking around very long...

I guess you could argue that's not the way it should be, that it should be more welcoming here, but I don't know, I think we all kind of like to make fun of each other and give each other a hard time and if a new member catches on then, well then, they're on the bus..

 

I remember being a newbie quite well because I was a lurker for the longest time so I already felt like I knew some of the established posters but they usually just ignored me lol.

I mostly do the same to newbies now simply because there are so many one post wonders. I usually don't really notice new posters until they've stuck around a few months.

 

first people that actually acted friendly to me were Praxiskepsis/cherea and Dustinthewind..also that guy that would only come on to promote his crappy music videos ..i cant remember his name

Of Humor To People On The Other Side Of The World Using Just A

Screen, Then I Discovered Smilies And Suddenly Peeps Started To

Laugh At My Posts Instead Of Hitting Me With A Big Stick....

The One Aspect Of HF That I Found A Little Scary Was The "Stoners

Lounge" And It Used To Make Me A Bit Aprehensive Just To

Visit And Read Posts, Then When I Built Up The Courage To Post,

You Guessed It, I Got Stomped On....

Never felt like a noob except for when someone mentioned it. I was very comfortable right from the beginning. I fit right in with the nudist people which is how i found the site. And i fit right in with the games forum. It is very similar to a myspace group i was a member of before that site went to hell. So to me it was just a continuation of those days....or a part 2 in a way. The only time i felt like a noob otherwise was just learning everyones personalities.

 

Keep in mind we are not all cookie cutter stepford people robots in this world. everyone is different....Variety is the spice of life.....If you don't like what I have to say, no offense intended, either.

I don't mind the hazing or the stomping on from the Stoner's Lounge, Glen....Never hated any of them over there, but I am not a woman who is seen and not heard either...usually....I do stand up for myself when I need to....and I will answer here...no need to have the last word over there....

I think he is funny and probably a softie inside that needs to act all tough. I saw his page and his photos.....There is no animosity of me towards him at all...but I will leave him alone now like he requested.

 

i was a horrible noob. this was my first forum; i didn't even know forums existed before i stumbled across this place. had no idea what the fuck i was doing.

a lot of good ones, but a lot more bad ones. the good ones can generally take some criticism, people that can't tend to be obnoxious posters.

hyphy? he used to actually be a regular poster, it was later that he only came around to promote his crappy videos.

 

I understand that softiness inside acting tough facade...believe me...I probably cry more than anyone here....if you want to know the truth.
You would never know that, though.

 

Also, I was at my last forum.....2005 until recently. I still pop in there for a few seconds once in awhile.....I had over 28, 000 postes there..... more than anyone...as writing is a thing I like to do, and I would just write there every day something or other, as I am doing here now. I am not into the dolls anymore really, and it is a doll forum. I lost interest in that whole scene....for the most part, and kept to the music threads I began mainly the last year or so there. It was time for me to find somewhere else with more to talk about, and that is why I came here....and find it a very wonderful place to be most days.

 

The Only Times I Have Cried On This Site Have Been

When A Member Has Lost A Pet They Have Lived With For Many Years....

I'm Sure There Have Been Other Times When Members Have Posted

Something Very Sad That Has Happened To Them Or Their Families

And Obviously That Upset Me As Well....

Well, did not mean I only cry from this place, Glen....LOL....My life has been pretty sad for the most part....Had a sad family life....parents never happy, and me just trying to make them happy, and only dreamt that they would be happy....and was the only thing I ever wanted...and never got. There is alot to my story...all in good time ....maybe.... Shit goes very deep....very deep.....

 

I remember being a newbie here but with 10 years previous experience on other message boards (1994-2004) I was well prepared. I was ignored at first and then later identified as a troll because of my attitude of never taking anything seriously.

Oh my god, do I remember. I got my ass ripped right off and presented to me in a grand ceremony. I posted something regarding a decapitated head found locally and how trippy it was and apparently offended the ever-living hell out of a group of RT regulars. lol, If people who complain about the way that regulars are here now only got a glimpse of the way people here were from 2005-2009. Oh those were the days. Should've called this place "The Shark Tank."
