everyones hair is different....everyones journey is different. Herbal essence is not all that great because of all the residue in the soap. sure you can use it but your still not washing you hair everyday to where you hair smells like clean soap all the time.

none of my comment were really false....it must be the way you looked at them. I can only give comment based on my own experience.

one thing that i love about locks is the natural smell of hair. That is the best smell ever. I like good week old hair smell.

    Maybe I'm just weird.

Switching between two different brands of shampoo will get rid of residue. Residue is unique to each brand and other brands wash out the previous brands residue. That's why your hair feels super clean after switching from a brand you've used for a while.

Althought the beauty industry giants would freak out if that info got out.

Well if you can't tell the difference between residue in your hair and residue-free hair, then whats the point of avoiding residue?

So it doesn't matter what you use to wash your dreads?

maybe I was mistaken. I'm still going to use the natural stuff.

i think when it matters (if it matters at all) is in the early stages of locking.

    This.

And no, it doesn't matter what you use to wash your hair. It's PURELY down to people not wanting to use SLS but these people have likely never used SLS based shampoos. If you've used SLS based shampoos all your life there really is no point changing if you didn't give a fuck about SLS before you had dreads.

I will say that anything with added conditioner/detangling agents are a no go in the first year for obvious reasons.

Well, I used some random ass SLS shampoo a week ago, and got blisters/sores on my head.... Like chemical burns almost:eek: I'd not touched the stuff for 8+ months, and have been using undiluted liquid bronners. (BTW they're full of shit about diluting, at least for hair, IMO. maybe for some things, but I like LATHER bitches)

Facking hell! Hope your scalps alright. Yeah I never bothered diluting Bronners because it doesn't fucking lather when it is diluted. The only reason I stopped using it was because it left the most disgusting scum on the water surface that resembles rice that's absorbed too much water it covered my bath/shower floor.

weird. i always get great lather when i dilute 12:1. it is comparable to sls shampoos (sls makes the lather). and the best suds of the non-sls poos i used.

    heh poos...

HAHA I laughed at poo's before your "heh poos" comment.

Next time I'm at a buddy's house I'm gonna walk in his bathroom and compliment him on his selection of nice poo's.
