I tried to summon Satan one night too to prove to my fundy friend there was no such thing as the supernatural. He was freaking out and couldn't believe I would kneel and pray to Satan. I thought it was funny as hell. Needless to say the Dark Prince did not put in an appearance.
Prayer, but in a different way considering I believe my closest ancestral gods were metaphors for the characteristics I have within me, I don't say prayer to anybody but myself. This leaves me with zero questions as I'm not asking for guidence or an answer from anybody but myself. I think in this way, prayer is the spiritual connection of my body to soul I'm basically telling myself to push forward.
Yes I do, but not enough. I pray to Jesus and ask for strength and courage to get through tough times, and ask him to watch over my friends and family that are going through some things.
Not until recently after I read an article published by Researchers David Shahar and Mark Sayers from the University of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia which concluded young people may be developing tiny hornlike spikes at the back of their skulls because of Cell phone usage.
While growing up this is what we used to recite before every meal After: We give Thee thanks for all Thy benefits, O Almighty God, who livest and reignest world without end. Amen. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
Me too. My siblings and I also were also required to recite the our father and hail Mary prayers before bed, every single night. Now I recite the "Is it Friday yet?" every weekday morning
I grew up with that dinner prayer too. It's a great affirmation he's indeed as fictional as an assumed answer to one's prayer by a guy who died 2000 years ago. A good thing indeed
Because they don't come when we summon them, means they do not or have not existed to you? Is that what you're saying?
Jesus might have existed. But your 'good' in reaction to Tumblings unanswered prayer to the dark lord mainly is good because it seems to affirm there's not such an entity to make an answer. In light of that fortunate conclusion it seems fair to point out the same then likely pertains to the supposed opposing entity/force. The answers to such prayers are likely imagined/believed. A subjective interpretation of following events. There's not like a literal answer in the form of a voice in the first place. So, I'm uncertain about God but pretty certain about Jesus of Nazareth answering any prayers in this day and time. At first instance I assume he existed once upon a time, but not 100% certain about that either. He could be a construction. An overall beneficial one don't get me wrong It's just that I'm a doubting Thomas (the wisest apostle imho ) So if your 'good' in reaction to Tumblings unanswered prayer is ment as 'good it didn't work' I feel like pointing out that there's nothing that could have gone bad there in the first place in regards to something being summoned or giving an answer.
