Do you own a gun?

No, I don't have one. I am certainly not opposed to having one, however, and wouldn't mind having one simply for self-defense, since you cannot rely on the police for anything useful.

 

I'd really like one after the time the cops bullied their way into my house without a warrant. I lost all sense of privacy and security that night. We've since put up an 8 foot privacy fence and posted "No Trespassing" signs, but I used to think living on private property would keep unwanted visitors INCLUDING the police off my land and it sure as hell didn't. Those signs and that gate are no more gonna keep them out, either. Don't expect them to come back, I don't expect anyone to be messing with my property without explicit permission, but that doesn't mean they won't find another reason to try bullying their way up here. Ain't gonna happen again without a fight, I can tell you that much.

 

We as a family, have many. We don't shoot living creatures,though. Just targets. My favorite is a 1913 Springfield double barrel with 30 inch barrels. It puts double aught out there a few hundred yards. In case some of you don't know--double aught is 9 38 slugs in each shotgun shell. My son and his girl friend go almost every weekend and for target shooting--they came up with something pretty cool.

They get balloons and put white flour in them with a turkey baster, blow them up and stick them all over the place where we go, out to several hundred yards. When hit, a puff of flour shows. Some are out so far, they appear to be about the size of pinheads.

Yeah, heavily armed. I've been around guns my whole life and spent a lot of time at the range.

I never carried until maybe a year ago, things just seem too volatile not to anymore. I carry concealed. To me open carrying just means you are going to shot at first in the event of a robbery/mass shooter.

 

Concealed is absolutely the way to go. Here we don't need a license to carry concealed.
