They used to call me the Sandwich King on the island I lived on... famous ones included the Grilled Eggplant/Provolone Sub, the WAPA (Without Any Power Again - created by candlelight) which was basically Swiss Cheese with sprouts, tomato, avocado, red onion and mayo on whole wheat with a sprinkle of Spike; and anything that doesn't have peanut butter and jelly. Those aren't sandwiches... they are some kind of dessert. Today I am making grilled cheese with sliced tomato on home made whole wheat bread. Called them 'tostis' (toasties) in Holland, the number two national dish behind French Fries - with mayonnaise. Weird food abounds.
I've never really actually been around Frankfurt much. Only to hop of the ferry down the Rhine and the awesome medieval town centre with awesome food but I don't remember cocktail franks. And the Porsche museum. Actually might be Stuttgart.... I can't remember. I'm more of the East German, the cultured ones. >.>
Not this way........................ Texas police officer fired over claims he gave feces sandwich to homeless man Matthew Luckhurst dismissed for ‘vile and disgusting act’, said San Antonio police chief, after other officers reported him for bragging about alleged incident https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/nov/05/texas-san-antonio-police-fired-feces-sandwich-homeless-man Hotwater
Patatje oorlog is number 1 (but to be fair it contains both frites and mayo). We know how to snack :-D
Yea, a ton of different ones. My current favorite is dijon brussel sprout grilled cheese sandwich. Or a vegan reuben style sandwich. Or brussel spouts with avocado. Or just spinach with a bit of salt, pepper, oil and vinegar, with cheese, tomato, and of course avocado. I love sandwiches, so I make a lot of them.
I never knew that! Do you eat at the Febo? Frikandels are a memory... and then there are the herring carts. Watching a Dutchman slide one down their throat is something to behold indeed.
not rreally a sandwich in the traditional way but i like to crack an egg in a pan and then slop a piece of garlic bread on it and fry it up
