And if so, how often? Also what types of playlists do you make? I have a playlist for one of my stories, I have a playlist of certain types of classes I teach, I have different playlists for working called "motivation", etc., I have a playlist for when I feel "not myself", I have a playlist for another of my stories. I also have artist playlists and genre playlists. I have also started a new playlist called "gifts" in which I've added songs that people have introduced to me and they remind me of the person or the moment. What about you?
I do sometimes. For a long time it seemed like every album I bought the 3rd song on them was my favorite so I made a playlist called #3 with the 3rd song of a lot of my albums. I've made playlists for work of songsthat are "client appropriate". I have made playlists that reminds me of certain times in my life like high school. I made one of my best friends a 3 disc set called STMMAH which stands for Songs That Make(my name) Happy. It's just a bunch of random music. I gave it to her a few years ago and she was listening to one of the cds when I got in her car the other day.
I used to, but i kind of force myself just to listen to the album. There are so many from times of yor you can just quickly download and so many per year nowadays, one can miss some gems if you just stick to what makes it to the radio. Can think of at least.a.dozen bands, where my favourite song wasnt their big radio hit
Most of the bands I listen to aren't on the radio. I couldn't tell you the last time I listened to the radio on my own without it being in someone else's car, store, etc. It's probably been a few years since I've actually listened to the radio in my own. I feel so "un-hip" because I never know the new pop songs but that's not my style so I'm ok with that.
I am more album-oriented when it comes to music, but sometimes when I am in the mood I will make a playlist with individual songs.
I only realized late last year that you could make a playlist on iPhone. Now I have like Twenty ^.^ and I shuffle each one. I've gone to every album and selected 3-4 of my fav tracks and 1-2 tracks from EPs. It works out awesome on complete shuffle, depending on mixed genres.
I am curious and want to know more about these songs. I don't really make play lists anymore. I tend to either listen by album or put everything on shuffle and just choose as I go along. I like how one song can make me think of others that may or may not sound anything alike. It's fun to just pick each song towards the end of the previous.
I tend to make only one playlist, haha. but I've realized recently that aside from school related music, I listen to shockingly little music.
I would die. I listen to music ALL THE TIME. I sing ALL the time too, much to my husband's dismay. Haha. Honestly most of the time my music is on shuffle until a band comes on that makes me think "oh I forgot how much I liked this band" then I'll go on a kick and only listen to that band for a week or so.
I live on playlists, I've got about 12 or 13 but to be honest I only really listen to about 3.. they're mainly organised by mood, but a few of them are genre's like my trip list and metal stuff.
yes. i use grooveshark to make playlists. i have 91 of them. yesterday i made one with all Modest Mouse songs. i have some playlists that are the set lists from certain concerts i've been too. many of my playlists are named by the bands that are in them. but a lot are pretty haphazardly named too. often, i will make a playlist for for an upcoming psychedelic trip. those are named discreetly since i use grooveshark at work too.
I am drowning in playlists  Yes, I make massive use of them! All in Winamp in which I still play all my mp3's. I just have so much music and my collection consists of mainly albums so yeah, I regularly use 10 year old playlists (so I don't have to compile songs I want to listen to often endlessly) and also still make new ones. Some are atmosphere based and can contain vastly different genres, others are solely genre orientated. I have playlists for when I play chess with one particular friend and other playlists that are psychedelic and stoner rock orientated more for spacing out with other friends. This doesn't mean I don't listen to whole albums at all, I often prefer that too. Just depends on the mood naturally!
I've got many playlists of electronic stuff which are actually mixes I put together using Traktor back when I was doing some DJing. Since the mp3s are mostly just one tune it makes sense, and also clips off the annoyingly long tags some producers go in for. With other genres I have a few playlists - Just tend to pick out my favorites and put them in there.
Yeah, I live on playlists too, but it's a very recent thing for me. I cannot go many hours without listening to music and if I go a day or half a day, I suddenly think..."oh that's why this day's been sucking". I use grooveshark mostly. As a matter of fact, I probably wouldn't have gotten much into playlists if it wasn't for that site. Most of the stuff I listen to is never on radio. I only just started listening to radio this past year because of some work I'm doing and I have one playlist, dedicated to the radio songs I like, the rest are not radio-played, unless they're older stuff.
