"The words dont mean much to me other than to serve as landmarks where there are changes, breaks and dynamics.Since I am an "In the moment" player I am easily able to enjoy a song fully"

    Obviously you agree.

This was your post preceeding the other one I responded to and you were responding to a post about listening to music as far as I could tell.

I think people learn in various ways. Some may be moved by lyrics in a particular way and/or feel moved by particular lyrical themes and what not and based off this, find their sound accordingly. It may not necessarily apply to you and I so much but I'm also not sure the "Well when you get better skills, you'll see things differently" is fully justified either.

What makes alot of the great protest songs, punk songs, anthems, etc. great Is what is being said in these songs. If you prefer funny lyrics as you say, it may be kind of difficult for you to relate. Perhaps this may be like how certain people who are into music may not be moved by a great guitar or bass solos/playing.

How is "As you PROGRESS in your playing youll see things diffetently" even need to be justified? Thats rediculous and your taking it out of context . It it goes without saying peeps learn diffetently. The statement simply means that as he progresses, he will understand what I was telling him.

I find it amusing when a band who sings in English uses their native tongue at concerts to talk to the crowd. :D

It's like ... Jdjdkaoajdnfneoqoakdnwnquakdkpjdnejqo HammerFall! Djisododneiwosjdnejwosndnfnekqpdonfnwwjsoke Legacy of Kings!

Yeps, recognizable :-D Also even more funny with certain metal bands (grindcore, death or black) when they even speak kind of in their 'singing' voice between songs. But I think you were already thinking of those when you said this :p

I would. If the music is cool, good and or interesting I generally am not bothered by the content of the lyrics (of course there are exceptions too).

If the message in a song is completely backwards (as in does not agree with you, not just being silly or uninteresting) but suits the atmosphere of the music I can even appreciate them. I don't have to agree with the message of a song to appreciate them. They just have to accompany the music/fit the song well. You can imagine this also counts for lyrics in a foreign language of which meaning we can be blisfully unaware of :p

To be fair, I can relate to his comment you quoted there. Not really in this thread, but I got the same thought in the rock is dead thread (but didn't so far saw the usefullness of stating it, when I can make my point otherwise). It is of course very cool and also can be very useful and interesting for the discussion when musicians speak from their experiences. But when they state things like 'the bands you shared can't play' or 'you don't have a clue what you're talking about' (because you're not a (prof) musician) (theprodu) I feel like people pull the experience card in a very unconstructive and useless way. To be sure: I didn't felt like it was pulled here in such a way, but I can relate to why guerilla made it.

In my answers to Neon, nothing of the kind was said, nor was it implicated. If he is still going on about something that has discontinued sometime ago, and has not one thing to do with what was being said now, its just simple shit stirring. Its pretty clear everyone pretty much recognised saying such things was detrimental to threads and havent said anything since. He made that snide remark because he was looking for a damn argument.

Why don't we all just shut up about it and post songs or different comments which relate to the thread. I clearly attempted this by posting the last 2 songs.

I'm a big fan of Putumayo world music. I especially like their Puerto Rico and Cuban albums.

Learn to quote or I'm not responding to you anymore, I don't need your shit. I thought the "Jimi Hendrix" quote would be blatantly obvious enough that you don't need to rely on the quote button.

If you don't care to and/or feel above reproach and critiscism of me making a comment on your responses, I simply will no longer make comments off your posts.
