My brother said he went to Boston once and did a project on "the streets of Boston" and started taking pictures of garbage and hobos. He said they'd chase him and flip him off when he took their picture, so I decided to give it a shot haha. The guy heard my cam go off and looked back at me and gave me this evil look and started running haha. Guess he wasn't feeling very photogenic that day
I bought food a few times for them, but I don't give them money. I don't give my friends money either though.
yeah, ill give food because i know they cant sell the food for crack. most homeless people are homeless for a reason. i mean, there are exceptions, but there are a lot of resources for the homeless. i know because i am technically a registered homeless.
I paid my mother's bills for 3 years and she refuses to pay any of that back to me now that she's back on her feet
You're 20 though!? wow thats rough having to carry ones own mother, at such a young age. Well, much respect and good luck, hopefully she'll turn around.
She turned around and it wasn't completely her fault she was in debt. I've been working full time since I was 16...and yes, I did graduate highschool.
Oh i wasnt saying it was her fault at all, just that it must have been difficult for you. I'm not judging your mother, i just meant by "hopefully she'll turn around" is that hopefully she will decide to pay you back what she can to help you out. I have to say i really respect all that you have done, even more so at such a young age, teenagehood is a very difficult time even with the best of circumstances.
I'm hoping she turns around in that aspect too...even now when I tell her I need $5 because I don't have cash on me, she goes "you better pay me back!" Who knows...she's one of those, "I gave birth to you, so you owe me" kind of mothers. Teenagehood was tough, but it went by so fast, I don't even remember it! It's just a blur now.
Hhaha how ironic, i more of the opinion "you gave birth to me, so you owe me" but i was never a happy child
haha exactly! I didn't WANT TO come into this world...you fucked up and here i am! haha-you owe me dammit!
Sometimes I give some quarters or a dollar, depending on the feeling I get from the person. Some of the most intelligent people are homeless and you would never know it! Some of the most loving and kind people too.
Pretty much, although i must've done some swimming to get here, fortunatley my mother never thought of that one
Well it all depends on the person and how they ask, im not going to allow myself being bullied into giving money but if they ask nice and it can be afforded i will.
I don't really see too many beggars unless I am walking right downtown, which is only in summer. I do find them intimidating, so no, I have never given them money. The ones we have are either posers (kids who have expensive clothes and hairdos, and go home during the week) or gang-looking types. I don't carry cash anyway.
