Hip Forum members are also shielded from all the trackers that every major social network uses to sell your data to over 100 ad networks at one time. We have our own ad server for the few advertisers we have, and no outside ads allowed. So your activity on this site is not being monitored by unknown third parties who develop a personal profile of you.
Absolutely, anonymity provides a particular freedom, and not only in discussing intimate topics. I find that my words get through my fingers onto the keyboard with less self-obstruction no matter what the subject. I haven't been on Hip Forum very long, but I've enjoyed this safety online in various arenas for a long time.
I'm kind of semi anonymous [if that's possible] in as much as "robbyrobby" is a simple distortion of my real name. It is enough for my privacy but will keep me grounded when I post as I will post as "myself" not a "character". Close friends ,if they are here ,will read my contributions and could probably guess from the content that it is their friend posting. That's ok ,they are close friends. The rest of the world can guess and of course I can deny. This privacy does enable me to talk freely about subjects which I know some people in my world would not approve of. I will always be honest in my posts , my nationality ,location and age are real. I have lived a life and feel that I can contribute [and maybe help] younger members with their life. I hope so.
