Your posts are some of the most closed minded statements I have EVER heard. Claiming your revelations are "better" than ours shows you have ALOT of work to do. Shut that ego up and be open. This is like me saying apples taste so much better than oranges without ever having tried an orange.
I feel that psychedelics are one of many paths to what you might call 'enlightenment.' I am not sure if they are the best path, and enlightenment is certainly far from the only possible outcome of their use.
If taking acid is cheating then a cheater I am, lol. Never heard of someone so arrogant about his own enlightenment. FU.
What took you a year of hard work took some of us £5 a tab and half an hour. gutted for you. Sarcasm of course, i don't consider myself enlightened. I doubt many would call you enlightened aswell.
wow this thread got long. where was i? luckily i think standingseated had me covered though for the parts i wasn't here. i totally agree with him. i always love it when people take this stance. truth is ambiguous, it is indecisive, it is impossible. but once you know it, there is absolutely no mistakes to be made. it is absolute, it is exact, it is unwavering. to the outside eye it reflects like a mirror. when you see uncertainty in god, in karma, in truth, you only see your reflection in the mirror. it is not the truth which you are seeing, it is yourself! i run into someone almost daily who comes along spouting nonsense like what swoosh is saying, and it has really become quite amusing to me. i usually laugh pretty hard. i think that it is funny that there was almost 4-5 pages of dialect over what i just stated in one paragraph. your 'enlightenment' is very objective.
My father once told me that respect for the truth comes close to being the basis for all morality. "Something cannot emerge from nothing," he said. This is profound thinking if you understand how unstable "the truth" can be.
stoners and trippers never cease to amaze with their delusions. if you think eating acid and tripping is a replacement for an austere yogic or meditative practice you are stupid. There is more to being enlightened than having profound thoughts or seeing colors. The path is not really a path at all, its like a mountain slope that you have to scale. there are many pitfalls and rocks to cause you to stumble.(delusions) Some of the things you may learn on acid may not even really be true at all. The tendency for the mind is to fall back into it's habitual karmic tendencies. The expanded feelings of peace and union of a psychedelic trip wont last if the tripper has no grip on their consciousness through practice of meditation and development of higher mental faculties. Not to mention we all know here that sometimes psychedelics can leave a strong negative imprint on consciousness. do you think the Yogis who developed one of the first written languages in the world 5000 years ago were just sitting around getting high and philosophizing? They used cannabis and datura yes, but they also lived ascetic lives and meditated most of their waking hours in the blistering heat. they had their entire life to devote to their path because they knew to chance coming back into samsara again was not worth it. they were not lukewarm about self realization.
