It feels strange now to drive with shoes on now because I am so used to barefoot. With shoes I cant feel where exactly my foot is and a cant like bend and push with my toes to move the gas or brake, I can only move my ankle.
All the time, in summer never wear shoes in car , I go up till it’s about 30 degrees or less always barefoot
Yes. It's the most comfortable way to drive, especially on long trips. I just keep sandles or something nearby that I can slip into if needed.
I pretty much always drive barefoot except when driving the school bus with students aboard. Once all the students are off my shoes come off.
This brought back memories for me! A fair while ago around 1990-95 I drove buses around our city. Regular city route buses. I drove from a small depot quite someway out of the city. Regularly on the weekends we would finish our shift in the city and run "empty" back to the depot. Being a weekend I know there would be no other drivers there. Once I had finished and all passengers left it was off with the socks and shoes and barefoot back to the depot and on to home! Great days
Yes. Well actually I didn’t usually bother, but when I got my 5-speed Honda, it became the norm. I’m a driving enthusiast, and Hondas have one of the best manual transmission setups perhaps of all time. Clutching barefoot where my toes could get in on the action really cleaned up the last bits of roughness I had left. As a side bonus, the ergonomics of the car were so-so…with no shoes, I could slide the seat forward one notch and it was actually the best seat-pedal-steering relationship I could find.
