I was refering to the deeds that he did during his lifetime, seeing as I discount anything afterwards as it wasn't actually him (he's dead). What hundreds of UN soldiers have died for is peace, clearing landmines, delivering medicine and aid under rocketfire, clearing the dead in Rwanda, the massacared in Kosovo. What made the UN defunked over the last few years has been the impotent and pathetic behaviour of one of the SCMs, namely the US government. The red cross loses many people during wars when they go into the most dangerous of places, trying to give aid to innocent civillians, but they save many more than they lose. These people are just as selfless as Jesus ever was, willing to give up their lives to help others! They are his equal, and nothing less. They died because of the sins of many, not for them. Shame on you for not recognising the price these people pay in the name of peace and aid!!!

    LOL,
You have to say everything twice these days :p

    Right,
let me try to explain it in a easyer way since my last post seemed to difficult to understand.

I said that jesus is a fucking good laugh,
because thousands of people believe in a practical joke named the Bible,
Assuming that we are talking about the same Jesus here, I guess you can understand now.

Do you understand it now or is it still pretty hard to see what I meant? :p

Yes, that was clearer thank you. So, what you're saying is Jewish people played a practical joke on society with the Old Testament and Christians did the same with the new. Then there is more than one Jesus and the one we're talking about makes you laugh for some reason.

    Well,
I never looked into the jewish story's tbh because they dont interest me,
Christianity doesnt really interest me either, but I wanted to know what the bible stated to get rid of annoying people at my front door that try to convince me that I have to believe in their fucking god and loving jesus, and so on, and on, blablablabla, damn annoying.

So the jesus in the bible, is a laugh.

Maybe to some of them or Most, it was the only available job they found, you know they want to live and have money to live, like someone said that he doesn't want to be a soldier to defend or whatsoever, Nah, he thinks the salary is good and it was the only available job.

He was a man of peace. So my answer would be as much as I would dig any other Wiseman, Sage or Prophet.

I personally prefer the easter bunny and santa claus over Jesus. I mean he doesn't really get the exposure, plus candy and gifts are kewl.

WOW Never thought of it like that! That is so unique! WOW You see what he did was compare My God to two fairytales. It has to be the first time that's happened. MAN what a great response. That's some good stuff right there. Hey, guess what else isn't true? Superman! That would be a great response! Superman! You see how I did that? I took a character that wasn't real and just threw him in the conversation like salmon did! Wait I think I can do it again...GI Joe! Gosh, I'm in the zone now! You feel that it's the zone!

But that's no real argument, UN soldiers come from the forces of all countries, and all walks of life. Maybe where you come from that's why most join the military, but it's not that way in all countries, especially in Europe. My family has a great deal to do with the armed forces, and I can tell you for one that they don't do it because they can't get any other job. You have to be highly trained and skilled to do many of the jobs entailed. Oh, and the salary isn't that great, most members of the armed forces could get higher paying and safer jobs outside the military. I think you are stereotyping all soldiers into a comic image of the stupid trooper. These people risk their lives to keep the world a safer and better place. You should have more respect.

I know Cat, I did quote it ;)

What I was trying to say is that a great deal of people join the military to make a difference to the world, they give up their own freedom for those of another, they make a sacrifice for the good of others. This is exactly what Jesus did by standing up to the oppressors of his people. What I am saying is that I 'dig' each of these people as much as Jesus (as much as an athiest can). I respect anyone who gives up something for another. BUT, why should we 'dig' one man over so many others, religious mythology not-withstanding?

I don't know about their real intention or the reason of joining the military
Not all of them are facing the same things, they have their status bla bla bla, I can't compare them with Jesus (pbuh), he sometimes feel lonely even among his disciples as I understand from some verses, his situation & message is differernt. but yeah I got your point.
Says who, of course you can dig however you like =)

why is it obvious that Jesus' message is a good one? if you doubt that the bible is God's word, what does that make his message? still good?
