I have a weird thing about clutter, so I don't collect much. I did notice the other day I have an unusually large number of big ass pine cones scattered throughout my house. I found this giant pine cone a few years ago in one of my favorite camping spots and ever since then I've brought one or four home anytime I return to the land of the giant pine cones .. I used to collect fashion and teen magazines because when I was like 12 or 13 I thought it would have been really cool if my mom had saved all her magazines as a teenager so I could look at the fashions from when she was my age. So I started saving magazines for my future daughter. I think my collection is in my mom's attic somewhere.
I collect German militaria that was handed down to me or that I've found when exploring around. Diecast model NASCAR's Vinyl CDs Beer coasters Stubbie holders Concert tour shirts Realistic plush animals Runs stones Medieval stuff Steins
The things I collect now are river/creek glass, sea shells, stones and crystals, stone artifacts, and three-footed cast iron trivets. Along the way I've collected autographed music memorabilia, Living Dead Dolls, costumes, angel figurines, matchbooks, glass barware, vintage children's tableware, 7-Dwarfs Plushes, vintage suitcases, Santa Clauses, Halloween decorations, vintage purses, hats, gloves and costume jewlery, silver charms, vintage Baby Mickey and Friends...and probably a few other things.
I have a bunch of old systems.... newest being an original xbox. All of them out of dumpsters. I need to take the time to fix my gamegear, I found the instructions online, something about blown capacitors or something. Have the original sega bag and such, too.... shame I threw away the plastic, but it was all haggared. When I originally found it it was in a dumpster and I was like 12, and it made a funny clunking noise.... some kids mom threw out all his old shit, including the gamegear case in which he had hidden his porn, under the insert.
NASCAR 1/24 diecast. couple hundred of 'em. My beer can collection from high school. antique tools, my favorites are a paint can shaker form the 40's and a hand saw from around 1865 hats coffee mugs Small pieces of cut offs from wood projects, I think thats a hoarding issue tho.
Shot glasses from places I have been and I mainly collect coins. I have been buying a lot or Morgan silver dollars lately.
i used to collect antique cigarette lighters, old lift arm things with clunky mechanisms, i bloody love them, still do. but don't have enough disposable income to make my collection interesting or expand it, these days.
When I was 13 I stumbled across my dads old record collection in the attic. I've been adding to them ever since. I just found one the other day.....a collaboration between Bob Dylan and The Band. Paid 5 bucks for it, and it has not one scratch
books, stones and gems, turtles carved mostly from stone or wood, yarn, silver and stone beads and some Longaberger Baskets that I found at yard sales (I would not buy them new) Sounds like too much.
Ok, so I have a new collection going now... I'm collecting soap. I've made wayyyy too much soap in the last week...its taking over my house
I have ended up with a lot of collections but I only ever started one which was hummingbirds. Other in their kindness have started the following, salt and pepper shakers, thimbles, bone china animals, window sun catchers and swarovski animals and figurines. I tend to dust a lot!
My aunt had teeny tiny porcelain animals glued into a window sill so that she could use a feather duster and not knock them down.
I never thought of that! I have a lot of my collections in display cases so that does actually help cut down a little on the dust and clutter......or so I fool myself.
